  1. Ah well. I cant be there this Sunday but will be on the 6th and the 13th. Have fun mate.
  2. Great Raggedy, hoping to get a good group but I may ask you to bring the shotty for some extra laughs. I can take a couple of people from MK to save on travel costs if you need a ride.
  3. Hi All, Still being a newbie I am up for trying different sites. I am interested in the Mall but would like to get a group to meet up for a laugh. Would you be up for a meet on say the 6th September? I may do my local site on the 13th September or try Finmere if anyone is up for that too. Alternatively if the 6th is no good we could arrange The Mall on the 13th? Let me know what you think all. Cheers, Brackish
  4. Bought an ICS MP5 SD6 with a 7.4 2 cell lipo battery and an SRC charger. A single point sling, new half black face mask and a condor molle vest with a 3 mag pouch. Oh and a rail for the Mp5. Next up is a bladder, phone and fag pouch and a bb pouch for the vest and another mag then a holosight. Still waiting for my helmet to be delivered. Just need a day to play with the new bits. On a side note, My Mrs likes the feel of shotguns and may be up for a game! CQB mad blonde with a shotgun hehe.
  5. For me I would like to get: LCT AS VAL Krytac Trident (long version) Tope of the range AK 74u Think I would be happy with them.
  6. Lol Not you Raggedy. It was little Dan. Good rush from him though!
  7. Don't rely on a team mate to cover and get shot in the head from 2m away.
  8. It can if it is poorly engineered and made. You can use 2 thinner plies one at 90 deg and one at 45 deg and when cooked under pressure they fuse and it can double the strength compared to one single thicker ply. It will be more than durable enough, we make car doors which have passed crash tests and are on the roads now lol. I personally would not have a carbon gun unless I wanted it super lightweight and then I would paint it. But there are those who love it and would have one if engineered right. You did make me laugh with the saxo comment lol!
  9. Ok all, I work in composites and have the potential to make carbon fibre parts. It is not cheap and it is a lengthy and stressfull process done right but in saying that there are ways around it to reduce the cost. For example: scrap material and left over molding blocks or molding materials and avoiding CNC machining. An easier start would be the likes of M4 rear grip. It can be cut in half and both sides molded then joined afterwards with basic hand trimming, the insides can be made of other bits of scrap carbon or acrylic etc to house the motor or whatever inside. Now if there is a CAD master around you could make a CAD model and I could speak to the powers above at work and see how much it would cost to CNC a pattern block to make a carbon mould which would yield roughly 100 to 160 rear grips and then I could bond them together and sell on. There is the possibility of making a full carbon gun. This is something I may research and cost up as a project at work. I know there are lots of legal hurdles which will also have to be researched but I think there is a possibility of getting somewhere with this! Let me know your thoughts and if a carbon gun or accessories would interest you. Cheers, Brack.
  10. Another mistake...... Having a small skull means things like face masks do not fit very well should have tried one on first, might have to buy a kids version of the half mask and possibly a kids tactical helmet ....... small brain big....
  11. Common newbie mistake for me. Bought a chest rig and its too much so that will be sold and a molle with just enough mag pouches, bb holder and water holder. Lucky for me you lot have helped me research about other gear and all I need is my defense and I will be set up till the 'SHINEY' bug kicks in lol.
  12. Yep I am in. Will be at Spec Ops on the 6th. Doubt I will get a weekend free anytime soon as I am in SE London most weekends. Got a lot of gear to buy too, boots, uniform gun etc.
  13. Ok thanks for the good feedback, helps me narrow it down. Will look at the MP5 or an AK variant. Eventually I want to get an AS VAL lol.
  14. Hello all, Being a newbie and not far from getting my defense I am chasing a gun. I have a 10 year old TM M4A1 but it needs repairs and probably a darn good lube up! So in sight of having 2 guns to play with for now I was looking at the CYMA GSG 552 MP5 SD6 at action hobbies which is local to me. I have been in and held it and it is nice and heavy but with an odd black paint job but the big bonus is that they are being sold for £110! I have seen other places sell these for £130+ so a bargain for a first bought gun? Just wondering on your thoughts if it is worth the deal given the cheap price. I do not expect the world ffrom it but a few sensible mods could make it a lot better going by the threads I have read on here. Cheers, Brack.
  15. I will be there on the 6th too. Should have the 10 year old Tokyo repaired by then but at least it still works. May buy an AS VAL soon....
  16. I think they use King BB's. Not sure. It was my first time airsofting and Spec Ops is where I went. Met Ragedy man there and had a great time and have now signed up. Got to get some mags, battery and see if this 10 year old Marui M4A1 still works. Come along, the more the merrier!
  17. Me and Facebook do not mix well. Will add them but I must only ever look at Facebook when the Mrs asks me to!
  18. Ah Ok! I didn't find that site but think i will give it a go the following Thursday. I will google for their site and read up on them too so i have some info on them. Thank You!
  19. Cheers Raggedy. What site will you be using near MK? My first few times will be down Reading and Maidenhead with my friend hopefully some point this month.
  20. Hello Everyone, So another newbie who is going to give airsofting a go. I am from Milton Keynes and have never done it before but really looking forward to it. I am a friend of James932 and I will be using his Loaner M4A1 once it has a battery and it is checked for issues. I am sure at some point I will be asking common questions but will search the forum first. Cheers, Brack
