  1. You're entitled to your opinion, and it seems most would join you in that. As Alex said nothing there is really skirmishable and would just be suitable for plinking. I haven't heard any horror stories about their service so it's more of a product selection thing however there is clearly a gap in the market for these cheapies so someone is going to do it.

  2. when do you reckon they will be on sale?

2 weeks if we're lucky, maybe up to a month if we're being more realistic. Those images are only the samples and the complete batch hasn't been made yet, let alone shipped.

  3. If you'd like a sub forum for your site (you will have seen some above this topic) then please contact me to have one put up. Moderator privileges will be given for your forum.

This is a great chance to post up details etc. and allow your regular and prospective members to chat.

You can contact me via email

Please include site name and a brief description.

There is no cost to this.

    Thanks.

  4. Probably a mixture of both your suggestions to be honest. Some will want to play airsoft due to CoD but realise that the two are different and that airsoft isn't just an exact copy of CoD in real life.

  5. We wouldn't ever consider selling them at that price anyway.

The debate please is what you'd pay for them/what you think is a fair price. Not how/why/who/what/when they are made of except if you'd have a difference between printed and embroidered or if you are just happy to support the forum :P

  6. We're either set on the design/it isn't an issue.

This is what we're interested in... :)

Slowly getting there, what kind of price are you guys expecting to pay for these?

    I've checked out competition and:

    - ZeroIn sells for £1.25 plus postage which isn't really possible for us to match as we can't order in the kind of bulk they can as we don't have an entire store backing us up financially.

    - Airsoft International (the magazine) sell their's for £8 each or 3 for £20 inc. P&P, however I think that's a bit steep.

Let me know what you think, please be honest :D

Edit: Does a difference between printed or embroidered patches affect your decision? Patches are 4x2 inches and the designs above, come with Velcro etc.

  8. The donation link is in my sig, and also in the announcements section. It has very hard for me to tell how obvious something is when I know where it is :)

I don't wish to be crying out for a donation too much as we aren't about to fold because of it. However a link on the top bar would be good (as suggested)

The main goal for me is that this is still a great forum even if you weren't to sub etc, just if you were a regular etc it would offer good things to you.

  9. Well the idea that everyone would pay the same subscription fee and would be entered into the raffle would really make it fairer. If it was unset then people would almost be bribing their way to the raffle prize.

I will be setting this up at 2,000 members, anyone who donates before then will receive a supporters packing of equivalent value when it comes into play.

Dave I wouldn't be able to give you Moderator and Supporter titles unfortunately but you will of course receive the same benefits if you wish to partake.

  10. A similar idea is being worked on where we would have supporters, and it would be a £10 sub for the year (discounted if you buy more years) or you can buy less time too.

Trouble is I'm trying to get as many benefits for you guys as possible so requires emailing a lot of retailers etc.

Maybe I'm wrong though, does something like increased PM space, a special title such as 'Supporter', ability to bump posts in the classifieds sooner and maybe a hidden forum for supporters appeal at that price? Obviously half the idea is you are helping the forum out too. The more people who signed up would also mean we could do things like giveaways (might start small with just BB's etc and then get onto guns)

We have had the ability to donate since the forum was opened near enough but we as yet haven't received anything, tight bunch you are

  11. The problem we have at the minute is 10 or so people wouldn't mind a patch but from all I've seen so far most places look for orders of around 100, which budget wise makes no sense for us I'm afraid.

If anyone were to find somewhere that could do these at a much lower quantity I'd be happy to get it going.

If you really want more then I suggest you keep recommending us to everyone telling them to become regular on here, if we get something like 30-40 votes (no double accounts please :P) then I'll take the plunge.

  12. For those new to airsoft, the mechbox is often a source of mystery. Mechbox is airsoft slang for “mechanical box” or the gearbox case that houses the gears, springs, piston and cylinder which powers an AEG. The mechbox or airsoft gearbox is essentially a small electric-powered air compressor. This article will give you an inside look at the mechbox and how everything works.
