So I’ve done it again. Really, really wanted an AK. Hunted for ages to get one, then when I get it realise that it’s just not for me. I’m definitely an AR guy. This is the 6th or 7th AK I’ve had over the years and sold them all. So you’d think I’d learn. 

 

There’s nothing wrong with it. I had ideas of what I would like to do with it, bought all the bits for a Spetsnas, Alpha Group style build, but stuff needs tweaking to fit and I haven’t got the desire anymore so it’s up for grabs as a project or is usable as it is.

 

First the good news.

 

The gun itself functions as it should. Fires well on semi and full auto. The internals on these are made from Taiwanese cheese, but this one has no cracks that I can see. (Nyet, rifle is fine)

 

The suppressor is very nice. Big, heavy and looks great. Fits really well. 

 

I will also send an AK extended charging handle which is on its way from Asia Airsoft, but hasn’t arrived yet. It could be here soon or it could be a month, so will be sent on if it’s not arrived before this sells. 

 

Not so good news.

 

It comes with 4 mags, two damaged WE mags and two undamaged Well mags. Both Well mags and one of the WE mags are leak free. Both WE mags have cracks to the plastic around the top and on one the internals are loose and can be removed. Also the internals of this mag may be beyond repair, not sure. The well mags work fine, but fire a little sluggish.

 

The real steel Magpul mag is brand new. Arrived today from Brownells. I was going to use this and one of the WE mags to create a usable Magpul mag, but can’t be bothered.

 

Genuine FAB Defence rubberised AK grip. This doesn’t fit at the moment. Screw placement and length are slightly off, but I’m sure this can be made to fit by someone who has the time and tools to do it. 

 

The side scope mount has been Dremelled down so the rail fits behind the iron sights, but the clamp is to loose, so it does not tighten onto the rifle. I’m sure this can be sorted out, may just need the spring cut a little, but again, I can’t be bothered.

 

Other than that, the rifle feels great, solid and with the alterations I was going to do, or something similar, I’m sure it’ll look fantastic.
