200rabbits
As the topic says. Have we got enough airsofters either at the University of Nottingham, or potentially coming here next year to get together and organise a society/team? Or a joint venture with Nottingham Trent? Not that I'm sure how the SU's will like that... We need 25 for an official society, not sure if there's gonna be that many of us, but we could start something unofficial and officialise it if we ever grow to the right number... rascal3103
Hiya I think you already have one if you check. As I understand it you affiliated (or your chairman/president is) to Phoenix Airsoft. He has told the rest of the members not to play anywhere else in Nottingham However, if your interested then we could sort you a good university discount and membership at skirmish Airsoft in Nottingham. Get in touch and we can chat. [email protected] You can also join our forum there to keep up with dates Come and play anytime at skirmish, let me know and I will have a chat when your there Stefan
200rabbits
It's Nottingham Trent University that do. RPG soc seem to occasionally go paintballing, but I'm suggesting something more focused on airsoft. Sure we could do paintball as well, but I think everyone who knows both well enough knows which is better
Supporters TPI Posted March 4, 2012 Supporters Share Posted March 4, 2012 Paintball obviously because you get paid to play
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted March 5, 2012 Supporters Share Posted March 5, 2012 Haha only you Craig, if I got paid to play then I think I'd like paintball too.. But yah, Andrew, since I gave you the idea to do this, well, most probably, have you looked into it much further than the 25 people needed thing? Shallam's soc creation thing sounds like a right farce, it's going to take me ages to get one set up.
200rabbits
It's actually relatively simple. You find 25 people, work out the positions in the society (president, treasurer, social secretary, drill sergeant, whatever), you say what the soc is about, what the soc will probably do, and what the soc membership fee will be, send all that to the Students Union, and wait. Our SU has a couple of places where you can get all the info pretty easily. I sent a message to the NSUS on Phoenix's forums, but they don't seem to have posted in 2 years, so we'll see. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted March 6, 2012 Supporters Share Posted March 6, 2012 It's finding the people that's the hard part, especially when I haven't a clue how to go about making any kind of advertisements. I can't make posters or do anything, I'm sh*t with arty computery stuff. Plus, a woefully small number of people actually know what airsofting is, so you're going to have to write what it is somewhere people will notice it and be drawn in. I think I'm going to try and get it all sorted out over the 5 months I'm off from April to September. Also, The Stan is amazing btw. You'll be fine with the G3, I ended up using the M16 because the hop went gay on my L85 again and that's about the same size as the G3.
