uSnipe
Guys, Anyone got any good tips to remove the trigger guard pin? been messing with this for about an hour but can't shift it, used some oil, precision screwdriver and hammer no joy. May resort to drilling it to weaken the metal.
AF-UK Founding Member Deva Posted October 13, 2011 AF-UK Founding Member Share Posted October 13, 2011 Hammer will be the answer, you just need to make sure everything is clamped down well, and you have something which snugly fits onto the pin. I don't see why it'd be too awkward?
RR01
Try an old drill bit of the right diameter (very slightly smaller than the hole the pin is in) and a large hammer, making sure the receiver is well supported except under the hole the pin is in. And if it doesn't move one way, turn it over and try punching it out the other way.

Johnno
I would rest the bugger on a Bean Bag or something similar while giving it a whack.
uSnipe
[update] got the bugger out finally. tried drillbits and wire nails but couldn't shift it. I ordered a pin punch set and got it out with ease. FYI: pin punch size = 3/32" Now installed a magpul trig guard so very happy
