shatis Posted August 13 Posted August 13 I was thinking of upgrading my AEG by buying a new one. The ones im currently looking at are a TM NGRS SCAR or a specna arms prime mk18. Which one do you guys reckon i should get. I want something that is reliable and competitive.
Galvatron Posted August 13 Posted August 13 How do you define "competitive"? I was able to outplay opponents running guns from £800 to £1000 while I had a ~£110 P90 until I decided to spend more money sorting out its trigger. Is there one feature you're dead set on having that is present in one gun but absent in the other? That may be your deciding factor. Reliability is relative. Every brand of skirmishable AEGs does its odd bad apple. I'd say reliability is much better today than when I first played donkey's years ago. I reckon that's owed greatly to the market being so competitive that even entry to mid-level products are made to higher standards and have features you'd only have seen toward the top end of the market. I really like NGRSs, but if you want to up the power closer to the limit it gets expensive as the gearbox internals are not built for heavier springs. Unless you want the recoil and the stop on empty there are many other options that will do more for less money. Cannonfodder and shatis 2

Both TM and SA are pretty reliable so either should be ok. Is there any particular feature which interests you? shatis 1
BigStew Posted August 14 Posted August 14 They both do very different things so what function do you really want. I will personally take TM reliability over any other brand and at UK power limits you do not need to do anything to a TM other than maybe a hop rubber ( I ran all my NRGS bone stock). shatis 1

Have you ever used a specna arms prime?
Cannonfodder Posted August 16 Posted August 16 I haven't managed to get my hands on a prime series but I've used and handled guns from other ranges from Specna Arms and they seem well built. I don't have any reason to believe the prime guns would be any different. If it's the recoil you want then get the TM shatis 1
