DrFumbles Posted June 25 Posted June 25 Hi guys, I recently picked up a second hand TM MP7 with 5 mags. One is leak free but the others all have leaks. I've tried using a silicone lube on the o rings to no effect. I've replaced the o rings with new ones and I still have leaks. I read online about using a silicone gasket maker so I've tried that on one magazine and let it cure over 24 hours, tried refilling with gas and it still leaks. I'm kind of at a loss on how to salvage/repair these magazines. Any help or advice would be appreciated
BigStew Posted June 25 Posted June 25 It could be the valves then selves need rebuilt or if the guns been run on green gas they may be damaged and needs to be replaced.
Rory Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Sorry, bit late but just seen this. Is the leak from the port or the threads? I have had lots of success (luck) with gbb mags by soaking valves/exhausts in mineral oil (rockshox mtb suspension fluid) and then using PTFE tape on the threads when reassembling. Also try soaking the o rings in silicone oil or similar overnight before installing
Lyndication Posted July 26 Posted July 26 TM o-rings are nitrile, they don't absorb silicon oil DJsnipe 1
snowy194 Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Try using power steering fluid (from Halfords or eBay) to rejuvenate seals. Nitrile might be similarly resistant to it, but it used to work wonders on regular seals, far better than silicon oil alone. M
