DIY thermal fusion optic

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hey all,

I've been working on a personal DIY project—a thermal fusion optic inspired by the Holosun DRS-TH (thermal + red dot overlay).

Just to be clear: I'm not a manufacturer or retailer, and this is not for sale or part of any crowdfunding. I'm simply building this as a hobby project because I'm curious about the tech.

It’s still an early prototype, but I’d love to get your thoughts—if something like this were to work reliably, what do you think a fair price might be in the market? Just curious how people would value this kind of setup.

Appreciate any feedback or suggestions!

I'd be curious about component cost, where do you even get a sensor and emitter like that from?

The sensor is iray lt384h and the screen is Sony. I know some suppliers.

Very impressive. I see that the price of thermal kit is dropping like a stone these days to a point that i am almost tempted by one of the aliexpress offerings. I believe that most of the cheaper ones can't be used as a sight however - which presumably is your plan?
