Cr0-Magnon
I've just stuck a AM Limcat slide on my TM 4.3. It runs fine but I guess the added weight has made it a touch more sluggish (nothing drastic). I'm using a Guarder lightweight BBU, as I already had one lying around and I don't want to spend a ton on this build. Will changing the hammer spring make a positive difference? Any other recommendations?
Chev Chelios
I would start by shimming the guide rod so the slide has less to travel. If this improves the snappiness remove the shims, chuck a heaver recoil spring in and up the PSI of the gas to something like 220 (Vorsk V12 is nice and dry) and should be gravy. Galvatron
As Chev alluded to, you should definitely complement a hammer spring upgrade with a recoil spring upgrade.
heroshark
Only change hammer spring if it's light striking. Heavy hammer springs do not increase the gas output high flow mag valves will, but that can increase the cool down and possible venting in the cold. If anything if you can get away with a lighter hammer spring this will make it cycle easier.
