Is an IPSC membership valid form of defence when buying online, or is UKARA the only way without two-tones?

Many thanks

Possibly, possibly not

UKARA is the airsoft industries retailer scheme and the most recognised defence.

A retailer just needs to be confident regarding prosecution under the VCRA that it was reasonable that the buyer intends to play airsoft skirmishing. (Or are a museum, part of a reenactment society or making theatrical / film use)

IPSC is about practical target shooting, so it is not a requirement to have the realistic element of a RIF and could make do with a two tone IF

But if a retailer is happy then you can use IPSC

If importing then I’d recommend playing safe with UKARA as there are many reasons that a RIF could be intercepted so it’s better to stick with the ‘main’ scheme

Without sounding too brutal, you're not going to be able to just say you're going to use it for IPSC and be able to order a RIF. The retailer will absolutely want to see proof and likely take a long suck through the teeth whilst they contemplate it.

Pro tip though.....SPEAK TO THE RETAILER YOU'RE THINKING OF USING. We're not all Septic Pegg and we don't know what you're thinking of buying or from where, why ask the internet when you can get the information credibly first hand from a simple phone call?
