It needs to be a bright standout colour. A lot of RIFs have green/tan but they require a valid defence. If you do not have a valid defence then you'll need at least 51% of your airsoft replica to be blue, yellow, red or green. Army green won't cut it but it doesn't look to bad in the two tone green.

Definetely rent first and get a defence and then get whatever you want.

Short question. I'm new to airsoft so asking cause I don't know. Does having part black part army green or tan. Count as 2 tone. Or does it have to be red blue or other stand out colours. Thanks

Two tone is a generalised term.  The legislation (VCRA) requires the IF to be either clear or >50% one of the specified bright colours:

  1. The aforementioned Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (Realistic Imitation Firearms) Regulations 2007 specify the following dimensions and colours:
  • a height of 38mm and a length of 70mm. An imitation firearm with dimensions less than this is to be regarded as unrealistic
    • transparent
    • bright red
    • bright orange
    • bright blue
    • bright yellow
    • bright green
    • bright pink
    • bright purple
