tattoo ron
hiya, due to me aquiring recently via a forum member,an mp40..decided to make it age related,or near as dammit for my lack of skills.. tools used, dremel with light abrasive sanding wheel, flat screwdriver, white spirit, and a sponge scourer. went around the edges of the metal with the dremel, and once took off the sidepanels and grips (flat screwdriver-3 screws) i rubbed highlighted and probable wear areas with sponge scourer dipped in white spirit. this model had the redish bakelight colour panels, and prev sprayed black,so once rubbing, got good highlighted red areas coming under.. less is more,so i didnt go mad.. Supporters Matt! Posted June 15, 2011 Supporters Share Posted June 15, 2011 looks good imo if your happy with it then leave it. But... love the look of a battered Mp40, its an old gun so they have to look used and abused
Supporters Rock-climby-Dave Posted June 15, 2011 Supporters Share Posted June 15, 2011 I'm not a great fan of 'weathered' looks to guns. they always look artificial. Actaully I lie, I like a weathered gun provided it has actaully been used and abused to achieve the weathering, you get it properly weathered then and it is a great excuse to use the gun
