After playing airsoft now for a few years I'm wanting to get into the milsim scene. The issue I'm having is that kone of my friends who I airsoft with dont want to. I'm not letting this hold me back though. But can I go to milsim event like Stirling airosft on my own or would that be hard work. I know I would need to buy more/ better gear for milsim. Any advice would be great.

You get put in a fire team at Stirling with others that have gone on their own so it's no issue. Have a look at their website as they have a kit guide for each Themed game/Combat mission. alternatively if you do a search there has been threads on the topic of "what do I need for a milsim". Majority of the companies that offer "milsims" will also post out a kit requirement with the warning order but best to get yourself squared away with majority of what you need before hand.

  •  Sleeping system
  •  Warm/Cold/Wet weather gear (including gloves/hats/base layers etc)
  •  Food
  •  Cooking kit (unless using self heating food)
  •  Snacks for the field (think snickers etc)
  •  Water
  •  Spare batteries
  •  Boots
  •  Spare RIF
  •  Pyro
  •  Ammo
  •  Eye pro/Spare Eye pro
  •  Spare clothes
  •  Clothes for driving home in (no-one likes to drive home in gopping kit)
  •  Wash kit
  •  Combat kit (plate carrier/chest rig/belt rig/grab bag - depending on role)
  •  The right attitude
  •  CORRECT CAMO FOR THE EVENT

Probably a few bits I've missed but you kinda get the idea, nothing worse than turning up to an event under prepared. Its better to be over prepared and leave any shit you don't need in the car.
