Another newbie here, going to buy my first gun tomorrow and cant decide on two I have in mind. Either the g&g raider 2.0 or the srs. Looking a bit of advice on which is the better one. Thanks.

Depends what you mean by better.

Any of the G&G CM16s or Raiders (L, R, CQB, 2.0, but not the E model) are cheaper, simpler, and more reliable.  They're robust, light, smooth and accurate, and offer great value for money.  You'll be competitive against any other AEG out there.

The G&G SRS has an electronic trigger and fancy-pants multi-mode mosfet.  It sounds like a great idea in principle and ETUs do give remarkable trigger response when they work.  But there's been reports of issues with that G&G setup.  That's anecdote, not evidence, and they may have sorted any issues.

It comes down to luck whether you get a good one.  At the end of the day, these are very expensive toys made to random QC standards, and you might get lucky (Workmate Eddy's Raider L is superb), or unlucky (my JG G36 is a basket case).

Me, personally, I'd save my money and go for one of the non-ETUs, but then I'm Scotch.  If you have the budget for the SRS and want to take a gamble on it, it's a sensible enough choice.  Just buy a couple of 11.1V lipos and swap batteries half way through the day to keep the voltage up.

Aaaaaaand I've just realised something.  You're in Northern Ireland, right?  Whichever you get, you'll have to ensure that it's shooting at no more than 1J, or about 328fps with 0.2g BBs.  Talk to your chosen retailer (and local site) about that, because if you're at all over, you may find your local site not letting you use it there.
