Hi all,

Myself and 3 friends are looking to get into Airsoft and play as often as possible in and around our area. We all drive so if it is slightly more out of the way, its not an issue.

We are all brand new to Airsoft and have minimal knowledge on what is on offer in regards to indoor / outdoor events that run regularly. Maybe there are some players around the area that have an idea about this?

Tomorrow, we are going for a drive up to 'Extreme Airsoft' in Leicester after work to have a look at what is available as far as starter guns go and have a chat with the guys in there for some advice as they seemed really nice over the phone.

Our plan is to begin playing our first few games at 'The Grange' in Balsall common as this is our local site... Any reviews on this site?

My background is in tournament paintball, I played competitive speedball when I was in Uni but left the sport due to cost. Now I am secure in my job and have bought a house, I feel I can legitimately spend more money that I should on a hobby! :)

Once I have my UKARA, I am looking at the 'G&G CM16 R8-L' as my first gun... Thoughts on this?

Please feel free to comment in any advice you have for us on where to play, where to avoid, what starter guns to buy as we do honestly appreciate the help.

All the best,

Luke & friends.

Welcome :).  Have a read of all the pinned (sticky) posts in each section, they contain lots of useful information especially for new players.

Welcome fellow Coventarian.

Although from Coventry I've not yet played the Grange. Been to the shop a few times and Debbie and Jonathan are super helpful. Of course they talk up their sites in Coventry and Birmingham, but were just as happy to tell me I should play everywhere as each site is different. I will play the Birmingham site at some stage as that's an indoor CQB. Frog Lane is a woodland skirmish and I've yet to play outside.

Got my brother and youngest son going over to play the Gaol in Oakham on the 16th July. We're all pretty much noobs. I'll be on game 5 and the others less.

One way or another you'll need to pick a single site to play your ukara games at. I ended up playing Reading Mall for mine which is great fun, but a bit of a trek.
