BorgCymru Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Hello there, I'm really here to seek advice and find one perticular gun. Always since I was a 'yung un' wanted a mauser broomhandle. Never had the chance and with replicas being banned thought, after looking on the net, I could get a decent looking airsoft one. Have seen a write up on the Mauser M712 "Broomhandle" - HFC which fits the bill, but wondered if there was anything better around now, or where I could get one of these. Thanks.
Supporters Rock-climby-Dave Posted November 9, 2010 Supporters Posted November 9, 2010 very few companies make them, so if the HFC one is good for your needs go for it, also will it be used for skirmishing or a display piece?
BorgCymru Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Maybe a bit of target pinking fun but mostly display.
Supporters Rock-climby-Dave Posted November 9, 2010 Supporters Posted November 9, 2010 are you aware of the laws around UKARA and VCRA? Basically, the VCRA means that you can't purchase a RIF unless you have a valid defence. UKARA is the main body for airsofters and sites to continue to buy/sell RIF's (black guns) if you don't have that it is basically the gun has to be over 50% brightly coloured.
BorgCymru Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 UKARA RIF VCRA ? best I go and try and find out what these all mean. Thanks
Supporters Rock-climby-Dave Posted November 9, 2010 Supporters Posted November 9, 2010 UKARA - United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association RIF - Realistic imitation firearm (a black airsoft gun) IF - Two tone airsoft gun Two Tone - airsoft gun in 51% bright colours VCRA - Violent crimes reduction Act
AF-UK Founding Member Deva Posted November 9, 2010 AF-UK Founding Member Posted November 9, 2010 He's pretty much just explained it to you. UKARA stands for United Kingdom Airsoft Retailers Association RIF stands for Realistic Immitation Firearm VCRA stands for Violent Crime Reduction Act edit: dave beat me to it
BorgCymru Posted November 9, 2010 Author Posted November 9, 2010 Yep just read though, seems my idea of getting one to hang it on the wall is a no no here then. Or at least is to complicated just for an ornament. OK thanks for that.
