Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted August 20, 2013 Supporters Posted August 20, 2013 When did you start? I ask because The Stan closed down about a month ago, the site was auctioned. Sucks because it was one of the best CQB sites in the country =[ Anyway though, you can't go wrong with a good old G&G Combat Machine. http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/index.php?cPath=268_318_403_494 Any of the guns on this page will have the best performance for £ value of anything on the market you can buy from anywhere, by a mile. Can't go wrong with them, even people who have been playing for years on end pick these things up to play with because they're cheap, dependable, and they perform flawlessly right out of the box.
kanji1 Posted August 21, 2013 Author Posted August 21, 2013 Damn ive never skirmished before and it seems quite local Know of anywhere else local ?
Spawnah Posted August 21, 2013 Posted August 21, 2013 If you've never been before don't rush into buying stuff. Go to a skirmish, play a few games, hire some guns, ask questions to regulars and decide what kind of thing you're looking for that way. There's so many guns and gear out there we can't really just tell you what to buy. As for local sites, check out this map. http://www.airsoftmap.net/Skirmish/
Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted August 21, 2013 Supporters Posted August 21, 2013 The nearest sites are Chesterfield Imperial Airsoft, which I've not been to yet. Tac-House: Spartan in Chesterfield, which is run by the guys who ran The Stan. Though in my opinion isn't a 10th as good as The Stan was, but it's CQB and it's close. It's run by people who know what they're doing, and since I went on the opening day, I imagine it's improved a lot. Blackdagger Airsoft in Dronfield, which I've also not been to. Brit-Tac Woodland in Barnsley, which is excellent. Skirmish Airsoft near Worksop/Mansfield, s'about an hour to the South and it's my regular site, they also have their own on site shop, do a price match guarantee and will let you buy a gun pre-UKARA in proper colours, so long as you sign up to their membership scheme and don't take it home until you've been 3 times. Though as above, you'd be better off playing at least once before deciding to put money into it, 'cos it's one hell of an expensive hobby if you catch the bug for it and buying a gun for over £100 before you've even played, only to find out you don't enjoy it, would be a horrible shame for your wallet.
