Shinobi
Welcome to the forums! G&G Combat Machines are great begginer guns! And a half face mask is good for protecting your teeth. Id go mesh over neoprene personally

Id go mesh over neoprene personally I've looked at the G&G Combat Machines and the UMP that G&G make is looking to be my choice but I will try and hold one first. Would you recommend a brand for the mesh mask or will any do?

viowithcrailtap
Thanks for those links. Is it just a shirt and pants I need or a jacket and pants? The jackets look like they might get a bit warm.
TacMaster
Thanks for those links. Is it just a shirt and pants I need or a jacket and pants? The jackets look like they might get a bit warm. If you're getting any camo gear, get DPM surplus stuff. You can usually find a CS'95 shirt and trousers combo for under £25 on Ebay. As for jackets vs shirts, the jackets look a lot more military and are extremely rip/tear resistant. Being working/parade dress, the CS'95 shirts are not as tough and aren't very wind resistant. Ultimately it's your choice, but the CS'95 jackets have a lot more pockets for magazines if you aren't going to get an assault vest/chest rig/plate carrier/webbing early on. The jackets can be treated with a waterproofing agent called NikWax as well, so if it does rain at a skirmish you'll have a waterproof jacket which your skin can still breathe in. viowithcrailtap
I looked at the DPM stuff. So it would be wise to grab a jacket anyway and treat it. I've used the nikwax stuff on my old snowboarding gear and I think I've still got some lurking around the house.
Mike636
I've worn CS95 jackets for work and even when it's bouncing it down it does take a long time to soak though, I don't know how hot it'll get if you water proof it . I've worn a t shirt under a jacket and that's been pretty warm tbh
TacMaster
When I'm on excersize I usually rock one with one of those brown airomax t shirts underneath. Didn't feel too bad in the blistering 30 something degrees of dartmoor a few weeks ago, even while charging around with a rifle
viowithcrailtap
Thanks for help with getting some Herosharks. I've got a pair coming in the next few days (Nice guy too, got back to me very quickly). Everything else can wait now until I've done a couple of skirmishes
viowithcrailtap
I found Gunman Airsoft Midlands today which is about 20 minutes from where I live (which was handy). I definitely see what you mean about holding different guns and getting a feel for them. The UMP was spot on for me and the owners there were really helpful and let us shoot a GBBR (not loaded of course) to get a feel for the it and man they have some kick! I'll be doing my first skirmish next month hopefully and then I'll go for my Defence. The UMP they had there was an Umarex, now I'm a bit unsure about buying Umarex as the guys at Airman said Umarex don't make the guns they just rebrand other guns and sell as their own? Is there a risk I'll buy a bad Umarex if there's various companies they rebrand from?
