Supporters sp00n Posted August 13, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 13, 2013 I would be tempted to try a new hop rubber and nub first Has the range always been this bad?
chris555
first time i have been able to test it so it must of been i did have it downgraded from 500fps to 300 when i told the shop 350 so that probably has something to do with it
Zyras
This may seem stupid, but have you tried turning the hop all the way off? Friend of mine did this, turned out his hop rubber was very tight to begin with and when he put hop on, you could literally watch the range drop. Have you cleaned the barrel lately? Is the gearbox full of snot? The list kinda goes on... You got an airsoft tech near you? I know these problems as one of mine was really unreliable and not ranging right, turned out the gearbox was full of snot and the motor retention screw was too far in. Supporters Ian_Gere Posted August 14, 2013 Supporters Share Posted August 14, 2013 Yeah, cleaning the barrel is always a good plan. Also you might have grease on the hop rubber, so if cleaning the barrel doesn't help maybe break it down and use a cotton bud and rubbing alcohol (isopropyl) to clean the inside. Make sure to give it a quick wipe with a dry bud because most isopropanol has a bit of water in it which will not evaporate. You could use soapy water instead, but rinsing and drying would be more of a pain in the arse. Just to check what you mean exactly though, what sort of range do you mean, in meters? Because although TM guns get good range at 280-300FPS, most guns don't.
chris555
i have taken it apart and there seems to be grease everywhere that said i think i could be having some luck the hop up unit i have been told is a standard m4 hop up so it could be replaced soon with a systema hop up that should improve things quite a bit and i am going to put a new spring in it as well as clean everything and re grease with gun grease
