Zooty Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, I didn't know where to put it. How does swapping work and how can I stop myself from being tricked? How do you decide who sends their items first, or do you send them at the same time? What should I do if I send off my item and the other party never sends out theirs?
Supporters Monty Posted August 10, 2013 Supporters Posted August 10, 2013 Best to meet up half way and swap from there, but you can both set up a date when to send the items to one another. If the other person doesn't send off their item, turn up at their house and find out why they haven't sent off their item. (That's what I'd do anyway.)

So I should do trades in person rather than by post?

Guest PT247 Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 anything you are buying/swapping of high value (in your own opinion) secondhand should be done face to face IMO as some people will describe things as immaculate which are far from it and very hard to prove you have not damaged it after receiving an item through the post. If a long way away then it is not gonna be cost effective to do so and you may want to take the risk but buyer be warned is all I can say in that case. If through a forum then make sure they are a regular poster that has a reputation online that they will want to keep. Don't buy from a one post wonder. If close enough just meet in the middle tho, simples :-)
geoffreym Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 Zeroin provides an escrow service where you send them the guns, they check them over and match them to the adverts and either swap them if they're okay, or inform the participants if there's a problem. I think it cost something like £30.
