SimonQuigley Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 im looking to make some kind of british army loadout type thing, and was thinking, would this be of any use in the field? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BRITISH-ARMY-SURPLUS-ISSUE-G1-DESERT-DPM-FLAK-VEST-BODY-ARMOUR-COVERS-NOT-OSPREY-/190829066939?pt=UK_Men_s_Coats_Jackets&var=&hash=item721ef4e99f
Mike636 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 It doesn't have any MOLLE spaces, so you can't put pouches on it, but if your after the early Iraq look then yeah !
SimonQuigley Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 i was thinking of wearing it with my MOLLE belt on and MTP top on underneath,
Mike636 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Well It would provide an extra bit of protection from BB hits & look old skool!
Mike636 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 There not very big on ECBA, about the size of an A4 notebook, that's why they brought out Osprey for combat ops
SimonQuigley Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 ohh, okay i think this could end up looking realy nice in the end
Mike636 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I do too, If it doesn'y have the kevlar filler it will be pretty floppy (Ha!)
Tariq Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Theres a zip at the top inside. Guessing you can put stuff inside. Magazines are useful. My Ricas is stuffed with FHM and racecar magazines
magicaldr Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I have one (DPM), used a kids book in the pouch for the plate armour, works pretty well as well as matching the load out I use it with. Not a modern molle monster, but dont let that stop you if you want one.
SimonQuigley Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 think i might go with vest with my MOLLE belt platform with some double pouches then get some leg pannels, with a DPM top and trousers:)
Nickona Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 the flak vest is far too old skool to go with any MC/MTP camo or MOLLE!
Supporters jcheeseright Posted July 31, 2013 Supporters Posted July 31, 2013 Yeah, you'll need some webbing or an arktis/webtex vest to go with ECBA. I personally don't see the point wearing it, they're heavy, uncomfortable and will just stop you feeling your hits.
