Mattg40
Evening all I might have made a decision to purchase a 701 dragunov sniper rifle as I think they are kool an just want one to mess around with in the garden.i decided to choose this as I'm struggling to find the w700 with top rails for a scope.so the question I would like answering is does anyone know where I can get an ak scope mount for the dragunov sniper rifle many thanks matt
RR01
I've not seen any without a PSO-1 or PSOP scope attached. The standard AK side mount will fit but is too deep, so that any scope will be offset too far to the right. I had that problem with my A&K SVD. I butchered an old AK side mount that had a removeable 20mm rail on the top, by filling in the hollow in the fixing point, then drilling extra holes in the rail and the mount, offset to the left to put the rail back on the centre line. That worked so that I could mount a standard scope on it, but took a bit of work to get it right and then tap new screw threads into the mount. Mattg40
So the long and short of it is I need to butcher a rail mount to get any 3-9x40 scope to fit central
padraigthesniper
theres no point really in putting a scope on a bison as they're very inconsistant
Mattg40
So would I be better off with the w700 then on a budget of £
RR01
The sensible answer is to save up until you can get a decent rifle, as anything under £100 is really a waste of money. To get a even a semi-decent sniper rifle will set you back upwards of £400, so why not wait and get a half decent AEG. The G&G Combat Machine range are not much over £100 and they are definitely a good beginners gun.
