jaeproductions
Does anybody have this gun? It doesn't say anywhere in the manual how long to charge the battery for! It's a stick type 8.4v - sorry I don't know anything about batteries! I charged it for an hour and it was okay, and until it was warm. Then I charged it for another hour but didn't use it, but I'm guessing you should charge it for around 1.5 to 2 hours. Please tell me if you know how long it should be charged for, thanks. Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted July 29, 2012 Supporters Share Posted July 29, 2012 It'll be way longer than that I'd have thought. My charger has a light on it that tells you when the batteries are done. If you don't have one like that, you'll have to use the battery calculator here: http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/app/# Your charger ought to have a charge rate display on it somewhere, it might be adjustable. Input that and the mah capacity of the battery (it'll be written on the battery, or the packaging) into the calculator and it'll give you a time limit to use. jaeproductions
Great, thanks, the charger doesn't have a light. I don't know why I said 1-2 hours...honestly like immediately afterwards I thought I'd be longer. Sorry I have retarded days... Anyway yeah I'll check that battery calculator out now and see. Thanks again Ed - you're great help for newbie/beginner airsofters like me.
jaeproductions
Can't see anywhere it specifically says mah, but it says 1100 on each battery and I'm pretty sure that's it. The mA is 500. So if there are 7 batteries it's 7700 (not hard maths..) but it makes the charge time 18 hours and 29 minutes. I'm not sure this is right because most AEGs I swear I hear most guys only charge theirs for about 4/6 hours. And if the battery is already getting warm-ish at around 1 hour, it can't be eighteen hours of charge time...surely not? I'll look again anyway... Supporters Airsoft-Ed Posted July 30, 2012 Supporters Share Posted July 30, 2012 1100 will be the mah and ma is 500. The app says 2 hours 38 minutes - simples.
jaeproductions
Well charged it for 2 and a half hours and it still doesn't shoot properly so think we've got a bad battery. Oh well it's alright cos there are spare ones cheaper.
RR01
Well charged it for 2 and a half hours and it still doesn't shoot properly so think we've got a bad battery.Oh well it's alright cos there are spare ones cheaper. Try to get hold of a multimeter and check what the voltage is on the battery after it's been charged. For a fully charged 8.4V it should read somewhere around 9.6V - 9.9V. 8.4V is it's base charge, at which point it's not going to last much longer if it gets down there with use. If it doesn't charge to the higher level or doesn't hold it without use for at least 24-48 hours then it's knackered and might be worth binning. The gun not shooting properly may not be the battery. It could be loads of other things, including poor contacts, wrongly set hop, dirty barrel, poor airseal on gearbox, badly adjusted motor, etc. You probably ought to let someone who knows how an AEG should sound and shoot take a look at it.
