L85's docter sight?

Does anyone know what it's called and if there's an airsoft version? I'd like to get the gun looking utterly 100% accurate to the real thing, at the moment, getting the right docter and some Emags is all I have left to do.

I'm talking about the one that goes on the ACOG, not the Spectre DR (I'm not sure if they're the same or not, so I thought I'd make the distinction)

It sort of has a hood over it - two large shark-fin type things at either side of the lens.

Anyone help me out? I've been trying to find out online but can't find it anywhere, it's always just labelled as "Docter sight", which isn't very accurate info to put into a search...

Cheers guys.

I have had one before. It is simply called a "mini-docter" sight. I'll edit this post with an image in a moment!

As promised, I just googled "acog with mini docter"

These go in the place of the rear iron back-up sight would go. They have a mount system that screws into the acog.

However, in my experience. You can hardly ever zero both the acog AND the docter sight.

That's not the right one, I have that exact ACOG and docter in the post on its way to me right now, but the docter isn't the right one.

Lemme find a picture.

The docter in the photo above is the one I'm looking for.

There's only really one type of docter, it's just that the mount sometimes used on the L85 is different:

I also sort of hate to say this, but if you're after absolute 100% accuracy and you've bought the ACOG that Ground_pilot posted, you've got the wrong one; it lacks the fibre optic strand. Presuming you already have the offset mount like this for the main body of the optic?

Mate, you'll have a great RS looking SA80. I am sure of it.

The docter sight you have ordered is as close as you'll get. Sure, it has sloped edges rather than the "shark dorsal fin" sides as you described, which I can see what you mean. :)

However CK is right. If you haven't got the fibre optic strand on the ACOG, that's the biggest issue here! However this can be remedied. Either by returning the one you have now and buying another with docter AND fibre optic, or just buy another ACOG which has the fibre optic and mounts for the docter and then put your docter on it and sell the other ACOG on a forum :) Here, maybe? :P

Sorry guys, the one I've got does have the fibre optic illumination thing on it, I didn't look at the photo closely enough.

I've got this one: http://www.rsov.com/product.php?langId=1&a...64&cateId=0

Will the mount linked above be compatible with the docter from what I'm getting? It looks like it'll require a degree of disassembly to switch the shrouds over.

Also, is the ACOG issued with a kill-flash on the L85?

Provided the ACM tolerances decide to play ball, it's literally a case of 4 small screws out, then back in, very simple. You'll need the cantilever mount for the actual ACOG as well to get things perfect; never seen a killflash in use or in the armoury myself.

Cantilever mount? Am I being dim in asking what that is?

Unless you mean this: http://ant-supplies.co.uk/Pages/SA80ACOGMount.aspx

Which I've already got one of.

Here's where I'm at so far: image-7.jpg

Obviously the ACOG is getting changed for the new one, the docter adding and the wing mount you linked above. I've also got the new flash hider, not shown in the photo.

So all I need now is for the bits to all come and to order some Emags.
