dazzer306
Hi all Took my two brand new guns out for their first skirmish. Had great day but was a bit dissapointed in the fps of both guns AK was 245/260 and the G36KV was 230/24 as both of these should be around 300/330 . Like I said both never been used before yesterday batteries, fully charged ,.20 bb's both unmodded. So am looking at changin springs in them but am a little unsure which to get to up the fps m90 m100 m110 the fps limt at site is AEG 350 any advise/help would be greatful Darren

Have you set the hop on each one, as sometimes that can increase the fps, as it gives a better seal around the bb? It will also depend on the length of the inner barrel as to what fps you will get. Short barrel on M100 spring can be as low as 260 fps, but the same gearbox with a long barrel can give 350 plus. Mid length (around 363mm / M4 length) ought to be in the 310 region on an M100. Try running a few Ks more rounds through them and test again, but don't rely on the site chrono only, as they can be inaccurate. Try testing it with the same ammo on different chronos if you can to get an average reading.
rschris
To be honest that sounds completely wrong! unless you bought cheap replicas of these guns then they should be at least 290+ Try another chrono before taking ti as gospel. At that speed im suprised you could shoot anything!

dazzer306
Ok for an update on my SRC AK47 tac As I posted before took it along to local site for first time and was dissapointed at the fps on the chrono 243/240. So Sunday I went to same site same gun. Stood waiting to chrono before going to play. first shot 436, second 467, third 378 fourth 457 was told to stand to one side as they have another chrono and to try on that nearly same results on the other one from 360 upto 470. Now I am abit bloody puzzled at this as all I have done since last time I took it was clean it and spray hop and barrel with silicone spray nothing else not touched spring ( wouldnt know how ) not moved hop as when I had it chronoed first time one of site guys did it for me as it was a second gun to go on that same day and thats when it showed low fps Any ideas no what to do as i want to be fair when I play and use a gun I want good job I had two with me
bigshep
Ok trying to decipher what you are saying: 1: you bought 2 guns, took them out the box to a game and they were around 250fps * the guns had crap in the barrel causing the problems. This is very common. 2: you cleaned them out and then they were 370-470fps * to be honest they are probably around 420fps. If you shoot about 1000 rnds through them it may drop to 370'ish as the spring wears in, but this is still too hot for your local site. I have had a look on other sites and the gen 3 src's ak and g36k's are listed at about 420fps. These two guns need a spring downgrade that the shops can do for about £25. The m4 will be a slightly lower fps as it has a shorter barrel, but probably has the same spring. Askt he shop to downgrade them to 330fps and you will be universally site friendly be it ccb or woodland and you will notice no real drop in range (maybe 1-2m), but will gain a higher ROF with a lower strength spring and improved gearbox life as you put less strain on the internals. (in my mind thats' why cyma guns go on and on in the UK, downgrade it from 400+ to 330 and the gearbox is under no strain at all) Hope that helps
