Johnno
No experience with JG but most other makes allow you to change Barrels/Handguards to any length from very short (3-4") up to M16/AR15 length and beyond with no problems. I have a couple of G & Gs which I have a set of Barrels ranging from 9" up to the standard 12" (or so) and a 16" Bull Barrel yet to be fettled. RR01
Replacing the front sight should be just a case of removing the flash hider, then punching out the two pins that holds the front sight in place, pulling it off and replacing it with a new or secondhand one. Note, that doesn't apply to G&G Combat Machine barrels, as those have moulded flash hiders and front sights and are not replaceable. As regards the length of handguard, that is usually determined by where the cutouts in the barrel for the front sight retaining pins are situated. However, you can get replacement front sights that are held in place by screw clamps, rather than pins, which means that provided the outer diameter of the barrel doesn't change from where the pin cutouts are, forward towards the flash hider, that you could fit it farther out and therefore fit longer handguards. Alternatively you could buy a different barrel to suit an 11 inch handguard.
Johnno
Forgot to mention the crappy G & G OEM Barrels LOL They were the first thing I replaced ;-) If fitting a longer outer Barrel and moving front Sight/Gas Block you will need a longer Gas Tube (which is what I'm still looking for) or make one from a bit of suitable Wire.
