Saltyyy
Foolish me wants to re-wire to deans and made the idiot mistake of cutting both wires of my battery....for a split second both cables connected to sparked, the wires were then hot. Lucky it's a NiMH so it didn't explode...but is the battery screwed now or is it okay to use still? Also, I've heard alot of people bending the connectors on the deans plugs when soldering, is there anyway to overcome this easily?
AF-UK Founding Member Deva Posted May 7, 2012 AF-UK Founding Member Share Posted May 7, 2012 Issue 1: The battery could be screwed, but it may well not be. I've had the same thing happen previously and they were fine. It was literally only a split second they touched for. Issue 2: Make sure you plug the deans together when you solder. That way a) the pins stay straight even if you have the iron on there for a while and b-) you have more you can stick/hold down. I find a nice big blob of blu-tack works well to stick them down on! Thank you very much sir for the fast reply! I'll have to give it a try after the connections done, if not, hey, I have plenty more batteries.
