Exactly.NGL, idk how people take their like £1k + guns to games. I would be so worried about tripping or something.

some I'd be scared they wouldn't work at the chrono never mind in a forrest. We're all friends here, you can be honest that you're scared they'll come back not working![]()
I think you’re bang on with this !I can't help but wonder if some rifs suffer from their own hype and despite being perfectly skirmishable are crapped on for not turning the average noob into the reincarnation of Carlos Hathcock. Th way some reviews lay it on you could play airsoft cliche bingo
AgreedLike the Gate PTX?
Everyone though that thing was going to kill the hicapa and rise to pistol godhood; it ended up being shit (very expensive shit, but shit nonetheless) lol
I think you’re bang on with this !
I’m also curious if RIFs suffer from YouTuber review bias ?
Oh, they definitely do. I think we’re living in a time where reviews carry far more weight than they used to.I think you’re bang on with this !

VSR's do sit for a while before selling, I sold a heavily upgraded Gspec a few years back and it took a while to shift despite being a £700+ build for under £300.100%. Selling VSRs is really hard at the moment (ask me how I know...), but SSG10s sell all the time. They're literally the same gun, but the latter is Novritsch and widely reviewed by content creators...
Love this reply thanks so muchOh, they definitely do. I think we’re living in a time where reviews carry far more weight than they used to.
Video games are probably a good example. Reviews and community feedback can genuinely force developers to change direction, the Helldivers 2 PSN requirement being a good example. Bad reviews forced them to U-turn on that decision quite quickly; they even made it a meme cape in the game.
With the cost of living as it is, I think people are also less willing to gamble on something and want to see what other people think first. Reviews are one of the first things I look at when buying something on Amazon.
The problem is that reviews themselves aren't always trustworthy. There are plenty of third-party Amazon sellers who will offer customers money back via Amazon vouchers or PayPal in exchange for a 5-star review. I've actually had this happen to me. I took the offer, changed my review afterwards and reported the seller to Amazon.
The same applies to YouTube reviews. Unless you know the reviewer or understand the circumstances behind the review, you don't necessarily know their motivation. Did they buy the gun themselves and give an unbiased opinion, or were they sent it for free and encouraged to give a favourable review? With these free guns for reviews, I think it would be hard to give a negative review on something I was sent for free, as I wouldn't want to disrespect the person sending it and possibly ruin that relationship, so you have to consider that too.
Reviews have a huge influence on purchasing decisions, and where there's that much influence, there's inevitably going to be an incentive for people to manipulate them.
Interesting take on not watching reviews of guns you intend to buyVSR's do sit for a while before selling, I sold a heavily upgraded Gspec a few years back and it took a while to shift despite being a £700+ build for under £300.
I personally only ever watch reviews of guns i will never own, If I want something I'll buy it. Don't care how it performs as that can be sorted. I also only ever buy guns second hand so I don't take the loss if it turns out to be over hyped or shit.
I tend to find small channel reviews are far less dick sucky and more honest as they've usually paid for the gun rather than being given it in exchange for a good review, neg's reviews on the Nov stuff I've found to be decent watches despite being given it as he is honest about the circumstances and what's good or isn't.
