Paint jobs on rifles...

Why ? It turns a RIF to something resembling a toy from a computer game, I've never ever seen a real weapon painted up, it seems even the most hardcore people trying to look like "real solders" have paint on their toys... Kinda silly if you ask me.

Discuss.
Simple fact of the matter is that they are toy guns. They are not real and trying to treat them as such is a bit delusional.Paint it how you want strap a dildo on it as a bayonet if you wish or whatever else you want.

Its a toy gun for playing a pretend game none of its real except the fun.

Either black or tan, but green paint schemes never turn out good. I've seen quite a few guns in the classifieds that I'd jump to buy, but their amateur foliage paintjobs make my stomach churn.

I've seen quite a few green camoed guns that I think look decent. I'll probably have a go with something like a Cyma M14 one day.

I'm not really a fan of the tan colour schemes full stop, but people can do what they want with their kit.

Yeah the ones done well look tidy, the ones that are just some gash from call of duty look like shit.

you mean like this beauty? surely everyone wants one like it?

Slabs of flat black stand out nicely in most environments. Amongst the military units where painting of weapons is allowed, doing so is common place for the exact same reasons they all wear camouflage uniforms and plate carriers/pouches etc. Desert-y type paint jobs are the most common by far, which shouldn't be any surprise to anyone because all the US/UK/other ISAF SF types have been fighting in Iraq and Afghan constantly for well over a decade. All seems very obvious to me.
