Rather than faff around with a new topic: Can anyone recommend a new piston for me? 13:1 high speed SHS gear set, Lonex A2 motor, SHS M90 Spring (335 fps, Version 2 Gearbox (for vfc scar), 9.6v NiMh battery. Stock piston stripped....every single tooth shredded in less than 50 or so rounds!
Think when you start going above 25rps then can start to run into gear stripping on slower/heavier pistons of say 30gms and need to short stroke etc....
On your spring, 18 or 16 gears has been said will be fine, keep piston light - no swiss cheesing but drop bearing will save a fair bit of weight, lighter piston with 1 metal tooth should keep it 20gms
M90 spring "might" only get you 300fps. it depends on many factors but in "general" M100 = 328+. You can squeeze more out if seals & ratio are perfect, spacers & cyl/barrel ratio is bang on + different makes vary a bit too
