  1. Thanks for all the suggestions guys. You're right to call out the cleanliness of the barrel, it was absolutely filthy when I first got it, but I had given it a proper clean since. I have noticed that at a certain level of hop, BBs would suddenly over hop like crazy, but a slight bit less and it would behave normally (with the right curve). I will take the RIF apart again once I get home later, and have a good look at the whole motion of the hop, and update you guys.
  2. Hi so I got myself a DMR setup recently (EC204) and I noticed the shots will start flying off to the right after about 30m of flight. I use 0.32s and I get about 1.8j from the RIF. I assumed it was something to do with the hop up, but when I took the barrel out the bucking was coming down perfectly central. Any ideas as to what might be causing it before I go buying replacement parts? Here's a bird's eye view of the shot to sort of show what I mean.
  3. https://www.taiwangun.com/sniper-rifle-aeg/ec-204-semi-automatic-sniper-rifle-black-e-c Looks like its been released. Costs a pretty penny...
  4. MED - Minimum engagement distance DMR - Designated Marksman Rifle Snipers & DMRs will usually have an MED given they achieve much higher FPS than automatic BB slinging toys. If they want to shoot at someone inside the MED, they have to switch to a side arm.
  5. So for red dots, I'd recommend you go on AliExpress and have a look at the Sig Sauer Romeo5 options. You can get a decent quality imitation on there for £40-50, much cheaper than the real steel version, and it's a great little sight, goes aesthetically with most rifles too. For tracer units, I've only ever used the Acetech units, but would heartily recommend a Brighter R. It's really compact, does both red and green BBs and lasts absolutely ages between charges. Lens protectors really depend on the sight attachment size and shape, but I'd recommend getting something cheap from Amazon, it's meant to be sacrificial, so paying up for a known brand doesn't make a huge amount of sense. For batteries, I've never been steered wrong by the Nuprol ones.
  6. OK so I put the M105 back in the UTR45. Hopped it using .25g BBs for a range of 40ish metres. Unfortunately, when I switched over to .2g BBs to chrono, I am still getting 358-360fps and 1.2j. So still over the limit of my local fields. Re-hopped for the M100 on .25g, and with .2g am getting 344fps and 1.11j. I don't think I want to push it any further.
  7. That was with the hop completely off for the .2g BBs. I usually use .25g BBs, the M100 is giving c.310fps @ 1.02j with the hop at its usual level at that weight. So yes, does feel like there's some wiggle room with the hop on.
  8. So the chrono has arrived and I tested both the M105 and M100 springs in the UTR45. M100 - 346fps @ 1.12 joules M105 - 366fps @ 1.25 joules Looks like the M100 is the one for me!
  9. I have now ordered an AC6000, hopefully it'll arrive today!
  10. Hey guys, I've just upgraded a couple of components in my DE UTR45, mainly the barrel (ZCI 6.02mm 363mm), hop up unit (ZCI), and bucking & nub (Maple Leaf Super Macaron 60 degree and Omega nub). I unfortunately don't have access to a chronograph to find out myself, but I have an M100, M105, and M110 spring and I was wondering which one would safest to get me more or less to 350fps without going over? Pre-upgrades it was shooting c. 300fps on .2g BBs, so I'm guessing the stock spring was an M90/95 combined with the original 229mm 6.03mm inner barrel and hop up setup?
