  1. Hi Guys, My step son CQB's with me, but as he's a little dude, he doesn't like how far he has to pull the trigger on his CYMA. Is fitting a CNC trigger the cheapest easiest option? Cheers, Pat.
  2. Hi. My helmet has the adjuster on the back of it and locks on pretty tight to my head. And I'm lucky that I don't really get a sweaty head and couldn't even steam up my cheap Raven mask. Cheers, Pat.
  3. Hi Guys, After mulling over the eye pro, face mask, helmet, hat dilema, I think I did a thing..... I removed all the interior and the straps of the Nuprol FAST helmet, swapped a few screws around so they didn't scratch the DYE lens and put the DYE strap around the back of the helmet, and it all seems to work and stay in place by only using the adjuster on the back of the helmet - no chin strap required. Not committed to cutting off the straps yet. Looks pretty stealthy to me... Pat.
  4. Ah - ok - makes sense that dropping 1V would slow things down. I wanted to loose the crane stock and fit a slimline stock, so that means my battery had to fit completely inside the buffer tube so I opted for this one: https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/specna-arms-7-4v-600mah-20-40c-battery-for-pdw-mini-tamiya No way will anything else bigger fit. Not sure A 25C will be much different even if I could find one to fit. So I guess this is the limitation of a slimmer stock. Pat.
  5. So....my stock battery was an 8.4v 1100mAh nimh. The only lipo I could find that would fit in the stock buffer tube was a 7.4v 600mAh Lipo. The gun just seems not as sharp and full auto is definitely slower with the Lipo fitted. Is this normal ??? Thanks Pat.

2 x CYMA 125 Metal Top Slides in Blue. £10 posted.

  7. A couple more pics. Further reading suggests this is pretty normal. Option is to buy a smaller 600mA 7.4v (rather than the 800mAq 11.1v supplied battery) or to buy the extended buffer tube (which means you can't collapse the stock). Pretty poor for a gun that costs almost £200. Pat.
  8. Hi Guys, My Ronin arrived today. Love it. But there’s no way the supplied lipo is fitting in the buffer tube. Options/ideas/thoughts? Cheers, Pat.

  10. Thanks @BigStew. I’m competent with swapping a plug for the AER and that adapter makes the AEP easy too. Pat. Or this Lipo even easier: https://www.airsoftworld.net/world-exclusive-lithium-polymer-aep-battery-li-po-lipo-7-4v-550mah.html What’s the max safe Lipo I can put into a entry level Cyma (513) ? if at all…. Pat.
  11. Hi All, Am I right in thinking that if I don’t get a crazy large and powerful Lipo, it’s a straight swap….. Or is there more to it? Pat.
  12. Hi Rich. I have a couple of CYMA metal mid caps - used in 4 - 20 minute games and that's it so they're pretty much as new. Open to offers. Regards, Pat.
  13. Hi, Thanks, but it was still under warranty so I got a full refund. I did think about another MP5 and whilst I love the gun and it's looks, the selector switched played up a few times. Hence paying more for something betterer (yes that's a real word) and more reliable. With my step son having an M4 - it just makes sharing mags etc. a lot easier. Pat.
  14. Hi Guys, Thanks for reading so far...... I'm a pro bicycle mechanic by trade and it's a similar scenario once you get over a certain price point - the bikes are all good - just pick the one you like the look of the most. Glad it's the same scenario with airsoft and no one has said anything bad about any of the guns listed. Really really liking the ARP-566 and looks like it's going to be the winner though (thanks @Mr. No_Face). Yes @Rogerborg - it was a Galaxy G.5M - tested in the garden and the metal stock inner tube sheared right off as I was starting my first CQB session last week - never been banged or dropped either. Also, the selector switch sometimes went to full auto, or nothing at all, but I read this happens to a few with the similar switch. Love the size and style of the gun though. It was still under warranty though so returned it last week - just waiting for the refund now. Regards, Pat.
  15. Hi Guys, Love my MP5, but after the stock snapped clean off, I'm after something new. I've been looking at: Saigo Defence Ronin (love the look). G&G Firehawk (not the biggest fan of the look of the stock). Specna Arma SA-C10 PDW. G&G ARP-9 (love the look, but proprietary mags) Amoeba AM-015 Stubby Badger (love the stock, but that front handle would have to go) Not wanting to upgrade - just after a reliable CQB and woodland all rounder. What are peoples thoughts/experiences and have I missed anything I mike like off the list? Cheers, Pat. https://www.bespokeairsoft.co.uk/saigo-defense-ronin-aeg-with-lipo-bat-charger-blue https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-combat-machine-firehawk-m4-stubby https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/specna-arms-sa-c10-pdw-core-airsoft-aeg-rifle https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/g-and-g-armament-combat-machine-arp-9?pv=2828 https://www.patrolbase.co.uk/ares-amoeba-am-015-stubby-badger-cqb?pv=1003
  16. Hi All. So we did it and survived. Had a great day and loved Strikeforce Gloucester. Paintball masks, jeans and hoodies it was. Few hits marks, but fully enjoyed it. Pat.
  17. @Rogerborg- interesting observation today...... The motor end cap is held on with two push pins and is 16mm long. Pretty sure a normal mag will fit straight in there as well as the extended mag. Wonder if there's a cover plate for the 128 to convert it to a low-cap that's held in with two pins - would make buying a spare mag a lot easier. Pat.
  18. Me too..... All the measurements from the 128 mag are the same as the 123 mag apart from the overall length and the lower section (your 76mm section). The 128 hi-cap mag is 146mm long and the lower section 93mm long on the hi-cap 128 mag. Good to know, but looks like only the specific 128 hi-cap mag will fit the 128, but the 128 hi-cap mag will fit all the non hi-cap guns all be it with 16mm poking out of the bottom of the grip. Cheers, Pat.
  19. That is awesome - thanks @Rogerborg. Will measure up my 128 tomorrow and report back. Might help someone else in the future. Pat.
  20. Hi Guys, Does anyone know if any other mags will fit the Cyma 128 hi-capa other than the specific one? Patrol base sell one that fits the 122, 123, 126 and 128, but no one has any stock. Plenty of mags about for the 122, but not sure if they are the same length as the one that came with the 128. Or maybe they all use the same mag and the hi-capa just has more lateral room for BB's. The grip just looks longer on the 128 than the other guns, hence why I don't think the mags are the same length. Unless anyone has a 122, 123 or 126 and can measure the length of a mag. Cheers, Pat.
  21. Cheers all. Strikeforce in Gloucester is insured for 10 year olds so I did something crazy and booked us in next month. Long trip (from Manchester), but turning it into a "boys weekend" with an overnight stay in a hotel. Going to buy a Viper VX Buckle up mini rig and a Viper Special Ops mini rig as they look really adjustable and pretty useful at a great price. Also going to go for a pair of Valken SE Thermal masks. I think that should do us for our first venture into airsofting. Looking forward to getting my ass shot off. Cheers, Pat.
  22. Ooo - thanks @Wavey_Gravey - some good things to think about there. Like the sound of a mini rig and a Dye mask - just add a beanie or a hoodie and he's good to go. Cheers, Pat.
  23. Hi Guys, I'm just in the process of building a Christmas hamper for my step son who is well into back garden shooting with his air rifle, airsoft electric pistol and electric M4. He want's to have a go at some CQB next year when he turns 11 (he's pretty mature for his age and a sensible chappy compared to hsi peers). I'm thinking of getting hold of a plate carrier and some M4 pouches, some M4 flash mags, gloves, a helmet (adjustable FAST type) and some sort of mask and mesh face cover combo. What would you guys recommend and am I missing anything obvious? Cheers, Pat.
