the spring change is one thing, but the other major flaw (other than the weak receiver which bends if you look at it funny) in the agm design is the split gearbox will play merry hell with angle of engagement especially if the grip assembly is loose, ended up (albeit slowly and with some shenanigans along the way) hpa'ing mine after i got fed up with it eating pistons every 5 minutes.

Yes I have heard the stories on the reciever which is why I'm currently reinforcing it along with the other work, the bipod however is long gone replaced it with one from a mg3 after it sheared off its mounting point leaving it behind in the reciever thing had the rigidity of a chocolate fireguard :D. Also I'd love to HPA too but sadly my piggy bank isn't currently large enough for that haha.

Yes your summation is right, for the use case of an lmg then most mosfet features like active brake, precocking etc aren't going to be any use.

Depending on how pro-active you are at battery management you might want to consider battery protection as a worthwhile feature but that's pretty much up to you.

For relelatively simple setup i'm a fan of the gate stuff, in particular the nanoasr for basic protection needs which if you take the time to solder the twin wiring (super easy if soldering itself isnt a barrier one plug goes to the trigger one plug goes to the motor) and can be easily swappable for the more feature rich warfet.

Out of interest is this the agm mg42? If so then i'd caution against making the mistake that i did and wiring the magazine winder into the main battery because especially on 11.1v it wont take long for the titchty little motor it has to fry.

I'm looking into the Gate ones now yes came across the x asr will take a look at the one you mentioned too, plan on wiring it to the trigger connector too so that's good to know. To answer your question it is the AGM mg42 yes and I don't plan on wiring the winder in as the motor is not the best like you mentioned.

I've spent quite some time staring at it when I had to repair and protect the wiring haha.

I'm also looking at upgrading the spring but not to sure what to go with.

  3. Morning all,

Apologies if this is already a thread, I am looking at fitting a mosftet to my ongoing project mg42 as I already have it open for other maintenance the thought struck me. I'm guessing it will only need a simple variation/model as it only has full auto, but I am a newcomer to the mosfets and this will be the first I fit ideally looking for a drop in kit, then possibly look for a more advanced mosftet for my JG G36 in the future depending on how well it goes. I am confident in soldering wiring etc just looking for a drop kit to make it a bit easier.

If anybody has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

  4. I own an agm mg42, and after purchasing it knew that at some point I wanted to HPA it. Well now I'm sick to my back teeth of all the teething problems and repairs that come with the aeg as I'm sure some of you are aware of.

So I've decided that I'm just going to do it now, issue I'm having is that I'm completely new to the world of HPA, so if anyone can give me some tips in regards to what I'd need, or if any kits etc exist. And if anyone here has actually done it themselves.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

  6. Morning all,

Was wondering if anybody can assist me in a search as I feel like I've hit a wall at the moment.

Basically I'm after a torch that can go onto an NVG mount on the front of the helmet or some form of adapter that will allow me to mount a torch on the NVG mount.

Bellow is an image of the Mich helmet that I'm running for reference.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Trash Panda.

  7. I am looking for some advice and help on an issue that has happened to my Cybergun Scar-L after an accident at a skirmish, while in a game moving threw a tree line I lost my footing and fell forwards onto my Scar and flat on my face during this I had knocked the silencer and muzzle and had to remove the silencer as the fall had damaged it. When I was at home I attempted to remove the muzzle after undoing the retention screw and and unscrewing the muzzle it appears to have damaged the thread on the barrel while i was removing it even though I was doing so with great care as I feared something may be wrong. I have got a tap and die set on the way to see if I can repair the damage to the thread, but I am looking for advice if this is not possible if there is anywhere near me that anyone recommends I could take it to be repaired or if anyone knows of how I could get a new piece if it will need replacing? I am located in Oakham, Rutland.

    Thank you in advance,
