Mine went from average of 330 on abbey predator at 20 degrees C to 368 on the same gas at around the same temp. Internals are stock except brass supernub, modify tan rubber and G&p roller for the BCG. Be aware first shot of a fresh mag is high if you leave it to warm up. Also, with Joule creep, using .36’s gives the equivalent of 410-415 FPS on .2’s.

Hi Joe I have a V2 buffer as a spare and I just ground about 1mm off each of the sides of the wide end using a diamond file. I then tidied it up using wet and dry with some gun oil. It’s really easy to do. Just make sure not to get metal filings in your MWS. Clean it off before every test fit. cheers Sean

@TadsJ2 I am currently using abbey predator/vertex for colder days and have used propane but runs too hot. The valve is recessed quite deep in the mag, is the gas nozzle all the way in when you are filling, the abbey nozzles fit nicely. In order to fully fill a magazine, you should be getting nothing spitting out until the last couple of bursts. Once you get a little liquid coming out, stop. Leave it for 10 seconds or so, then give it one last fill. From that you should get 2 full mags plus another 20+ shots. Angle is everything when engaging the gas can nozzle with the mag. It is not vertical but about 20 degrees to the base plate angled towards the front of the mag. If you fill vertically it will spray liquid everywhere. I have some we x3 red and the metal nozzle of the can doesn’t seat as well with the mag, you have to give it a wiggle in angle until it seats and then it works without spitting gas everywhere. Abbey’s nozzles are narrower internally and externally. As for taking the o rings out, never done it so wouldn’t like to comment. @Davegolf Yes I meant no o-rings or green gas mod as all my mags are v2.

@TadsJ2 I have 6 v2 MWS mags, no mods on the mags, and all fire 2 full mags on a fill (+ nearly a full 3rd mag), using the 1 sec burst technique. My internals are mostly stock, fitted a g&p v2 buffer with all 3 weights and Dave’s HSB. A 370mm, 6.03 barrel and the brass supernub. The o ring’s added to the mags do not help you. The point of the venting is to let excess lower pressure gas out of the magazine so you can fit more liquid gas in. The propane/green gas in liquid form pushes the gas to the top of the mag and it escapes. It’s not until you start spitting liquid gas out that your mag is full. I would try again with the o rings and fill in short bursts.

Hi Dave I didn’t expect FPS gain either with the HSB, but the semi action is a great gain. Did you notice I popped the two lubricants in there you recommended too. The nozzle seats really well and the consistency in FPS is astounding. Also managed 2 full mags on semi at 7 Degrees with vertex. Plus another 28 shots, last 10 dipped, but only the last 5 were sub 240 FPS with .36’s (last shot was 219 FPS). Can’t wait to field it now, got six mags and a dream! Going to give it a test on lower power green gas and on decent .2’s. If it’s still OP, I will fit the 4.5 adjustable on the lowest setting. Will post the results. Thanks again for all your help. Cheers Sean

Hi @MiniLuxy I have the original TM buffer tube and it was still too tight. It does move but not as freely as you would like. The original TM buffer has at least 1mm clearance and in other areas more. It is only the exterior of the end cap that needed some mass removing but it didn’t take long. With a decent diamond file I took the required material off. Cleaned it off and tested it until it moved freely. Once there was enough material off I used 240 grit sandpaper to smooth it. Then 600 to get it smoother still. I then moved to wet and dry with a little gun oil starting at 1000 grit, then 1500 grit, then 2000 grit, finishing with 2500. Make sure to clean off the buffer in between sand papers. It took some time but was worth it. If you don’t feel confident and you can get it to me, I’ll do it for you, I live in Nottingham. If you are happy to do it yourself and want a little more guidance, I’m happy to help with any information you need. Cheers Sean

Hi @Davegolf The parts are amazing. It just feels better when shooting and cycling. The nub is hands down better than the cut down omega I had as a temporary measure. It does look great in its own skin, not going to lie I am still looking at a 12.5” mk18 rail. Will probably do this if I decide to go down the dmr route with this one. Will probably also get a mag scope on it with that lovely HAO single piece Geissele mount when they are shipping again. Cheers Sean

Hi All Finally had some time to get the G&P V2 buffer fitted. Along with Dave’s high speed buffer insert and brass nub. The v2 buffer must be made for a slightly wider buffer tube and I watched a video on some guy testing the v1 who said he could smell burning. That was metal on metal. So I took about 1mm off the widest part of the buffer using a diamond file and polished down from 240 grit down to 2500 wet and dry using some Parker and Hale gun oil as a medium. It turned out great. I used all 3 weights with o rings between and the two springs either end inside the buffer so no rattle either. No real gain on FPS but it is much more snappy now with that high speed buffer. Thanks @Davegolf The brass nub is also awesome, much more consistent trajectory and so flat, again thanks @Davegolf Still awaiting my NPAS so I can lower power and run on propane, as on propane I am getting 289.4 to 291.2 FPS on .36’s (over 10 shots). I do have a 4.5 G&P adjustable and some blue thread lock, but not sure I trust it. Will have to settle for green gas which drops the FPS enough. Sadly no mk18 rail yet, as not got any left (last one was damaged) but I got a refund. Will be fielding as is on the 3rd, with a red dot. Will decide on a scope once I have field tested it. I have added a new stock and grip plus a magpul AFG-2. Once I have fitted the red dot I’ll pop a couple of picks up. Thanks everyone, this thread rocks! cheers Sean

Thanks @AlphaBear I have read through this entire thread a few times and it is great. I have already received my nozzle spring set. Got a ctr stock. Ordered a brass nub and high speed buffer from @Davegolf Fitted a Prometheus 6.03 barrel, modify tan hop rubber and, for now, a cut down omega nub. As per this thread I have some Geoffs .32’s and .36’s. I have ordered a G&P roller for the bolt group and, direct from Hong Kong, a G&P v2 aluminium buffer for MWS. I have also ordered the NPAS from emperionstore, the only place I could find the black one. Once I have the brass nub and high speed buffer from Dave, I’ll get the rest of the internals fitted then range test. Figured I’d get all the internal tweaks done before working on the externals. I’m used to single shot only and not going through loads of ammo so I am sure I am going to enjoy airsoft even more with my MWS. I’ll post about the G&P v2 buffer once I have it fitted. Just as a side note, the other reason I went for the TM was I dug out my 1996 TM mp5 for my youngest son. Got a 7.4 lipo, lubed it and gave it a clean and it fires like a dream. It hasn’t been used in 20 years and it outguns a vfc Gladius (worst gun ever) hands down!

Hi @Davegolf fully understand that. Thank you, I’ll wait for your reply from your website. I’ve only had my MWS a couple of weeks but this thread made my mind up. I can say to anyone that even stock, the MWS has renewed my love of airsoft. It is so satisfying. FYI - wolf armouries has a few mags in stock but they are £54 each. Also if anyone needs a TM stock I am giving mine away, just message me if you want it and we’ll sort out postage.
