I'm looking at doing this same thing now, since I got an A1A RMR cut slide (lallo-P from JKArmy) which comes with their bbu and nozzle setup. I noticed that something is off spec as I can see the piston head through the gas port of the nozzle by around 1mm. I tested the slide with HPA and it was perfect, also it chrono'd at 0.9-1J indoors with green gas, however when I tried outdoors with red gas at fairly cold temps (6 degrees C or so), I had serious feeding issues which I initially though was due to the seal between the nozzle and piston head being too tight and once it gets cold, it does not go back far enough. I'm ordering a few different piston heads and a dynamic precision 135% nozzle spring in hopes this will fix it, but if a guarder or GM nozzle will be a drop in fit for the a1a bbu, then I'll get one of those as well... My understanding is that you got it to work? A TM G18C spec nozzle to fit into the A1A BBU?

Ive had huge issues in the past getting the damn pin out of the metal side of the nozzle spring, I destroyed my stock nozzle spring doing it. The time I did manage to get it out, I set the metal part onto polystyrene that was inside my MTW box, then hammered that shit with a screwdriver with an appropriately sized Allen key head on it (I don’t own a set of punches, fight me).

Just spotted this! https://www.wgcshop.com/collections/new-arrivals/products/omg-lt-style-folding-stock-adaptor-for-ar-platform-gbbr?fbclid=IwAR0eO8Bs6LuNaq0ETKu1Rpwk4snKlH6P_fGifoz1BtZhkhXCEU8QWK9xkX4 Any thoughts?

I fit my Acetech Lighter S into the Angrygun Socom556 suppressor, by removing the metal tube that comes in the suppressor, creating a tight fitting cardboard+electrical tape cylinder to surround the tracer and make it tight against the suppressor internals, then putting the tracer into the cylinder and the cylinder into the suppressor. It's not the best solution though, making one out of aluminium would be 100x better!

When I first got my MWS, I had an Edgi 6.03 in it. From what I understand, Edgi barrels are some of the best you can get. I used it for a while with this inner barrel, but eventually wanted to run a shorter outer barrel and the Edgi was too long (stuck out of the end of the outer barrel), so I put the stock barrel back in. As much as I hate to admit it, there was 0 noticeable difference between these inner barrels in my MWS when actually using it to shoot at people. I've recently put an MR bucking inside, previously used an Autobot, with an Omega nub, and I'm very happy with how it performs with either inner barrel. What I can say is, if you want to squeeze a bit more FPS out of the gun, a tighter and longer inner barrel will do that. But, I get 1.4 joules (at room temperature) with my G&P bolt so I don't need the tighter and longer inner barrel when I want to up my power.

Thank God for that. I'm definitely buying 3 or 4 of them then. Fingers crossed GunsModify don't flub it and actually come out with something that can compete with the standard MWS mags.
-
I'm well excited for this! Will pick up two or three if they're in the same price range as the SAA mags, although I'm not sure how likely that is...
-
I've also heard that if you're getting failed bolt lock and there's no visible wear on the bolt catch mechanism, then try backing out the buffer tube half a turn or a full turn. This gives the bolt that tiny extra bit of travel needed to reliably lock back!
-
But you're still missing outer barrel, hop chamber, dust cover etc. Also I've see Angrygun have a new gen 2 of their MK16 (which honestly looked horrific before) and it seems promising! Edit: now I think about it, taxes would kind of suck... I think international shipping is free with orders over $150 though so that's not a problem. It's probably not even worth trying to build an upper and instead pick up a boneyard MWS but they're so rare 😔
-
Just found this today: https://www.airsoft-outfitters.com/products/aofc-urgi-mk16-14-5-upper-receiver-set-for-marui-mws-gbb Seems like a pretty good ideal considering it's an entire upper, although it doesn't come with a bolt. Definitely not sure on this Unicorn inner barrel but not like it's that expensive to replace.

I second the HAO MK16 rail. It slides over the barrel nut with ridiculous precision and once locked in place, has 0 wobble in any direction. I can’t say the same for my MTW lower and upper though. I personally use the Angrygun 8” MCMR however I’m not entirely happy with it as it has some small wobble even when fixed in the perfect position (I used C&C outer barrel shims to get it just right. The adapter ring Camoraids used was way too big and they had to grind down the barrel nut to fit it, which was kind of dumb, they should have outer barrel shims on hand, I used two 0.2mm outer barrel shims and now it’s perfect with 0 gap between handguard and upper receiver with a good amount of torque on on the nut. If I knew about HAO I would have the same handguard on my MWS as I do on my MTW (9.3” MK16) as it’s both cheaper and in my opinion more high quality. I have the G&P outer barrel system (base + extension) which is perfect for my needs and matches my handguard with perfection which was mostly luck. It was cheap and drop in so I’m happy with it!

Angrygun are really consistently pointing these days! Although my stock charging handle broke and I picked up an ambi charging handle from them and it was drop in fit, works perfectly with no issues. If only it were the same for their bolts and nozzles. It seemed promising when they posted the video of a 10,000 round full auto with the V2 nozzle but I guess their quality control is bad or something 😕 I've personally tried the 3.5 G&P valve, it worked fine but didn't allow me to go UP in joules, only down. Other than that, I'm using the G&P forged bolt with their nozzle, and that brings me to 1.2 joules with 0.25's.

Ohohoh I saw a video on YouTube of a guy using that tracer on his MWS, it looked so awesome... I’m tempted to pick one up next time I order from an Asian store! Let us know how it looks! Or better yet, show us

I've run ASG .25 tracer bbs in my MWS with no issues at all. I've also used their 0.3 (or might be 0.32, I can't remember) open blasters (biodegradable ones) and had no issues at all. I got my sexiest hit on someone in fact using their open blasters in my MWS.

I’ve got one of these coming, though the box has an incorrectly spelt name on it so I wasn’t allowed to pick it up from the service point... now I have to wait until 8th Feb for it to be returned to sender and have the label amended then sent BACK to me again 😒😒 I’m pretty sure that ATRG guy uses this stock on his urgi build though so maybe he has info on it

Totally understandable, and I was in the same boat. Once I got my MTR16 I never felt like picking up my NGRS because GBBR's are just so much fun. Nothing beats the satisfaction of hitting someone with a single, well placed shot. Bump firing 10RPS in semi, sure you hit people pretty easily, but it doesn't feel anything like a well placed single shot. The fire rate thing is a misconception, you will never get a HPA gun firing as fast as a DSG aeg build because you're limited by how fast the air tank regulator can refresh, but it is infinitely easier to increase RPS with HPA since you just tighten a screw. My MTW is semi only though with a heavy as shit trigger so I would say some realism is still there. My MWS is solely for Sunday skirmishes and indoor CQB because when I run 24hr+ Milsim games, it's not a feasible gun to use when you're up against people with mid-caps and full auto support weapons. I end up becoming a liability for my team, regardless of how accurate I can be with my MWS. It makes me wish there was a 40rd magazine limit for Milsims 😒 Funny, I could say the same about some GBBR users 😂 Don't worry though, once you are enlightened, you will learn to embrace hatred for everyone equally!

I sold my fully upgraded NGRS 416 delta to buy a Wolverine mtw Milspec (ootb HPA rifle) for a couple reasons: no batteries, RS compatibility for parts, durability and reliability, adjustable FPS within a few seconds, nice heavy two-stage trigger. There's no full auto on this version but it's a "DMR" build so I don't care for it. There's probably more pros that I can't think of right now too. I honestly think HPA is the best bb-flinging system out there, but where it fails is the cost of engine, the hassle of installation into third party AEG's + accompanying alignment issues, and also having to deal with pressurised air and the line getting in the way. Also you're just using compressed air, so your impact on the environment is basically nothing and your hop rubber and barrel don't get all gunky with crap from green gas
-
Agreed. The KuzminSolutions dude seems to be making something like this but it requires modification to the trigger box to work so it's a bust for most people. Some kind of HPA 9mm AR adapter would probably work better since it frees up space at the back of the magwell for your adapter, then you can take mp5 or ARP magazines into the magwell. If you don't care about looks and want significantly more rounds, then I'd say this is your best bet right now, otherwise drum mag I guess.
-
So I just found out that this is a thing: https://www.highpressureairsoft.co.uk/store/p755/TM_MWS_M4_Mag_Adapter.html If this is what I think it is, it will look completely disgusting when actually in the gun... But I'm tempted to buy it to find out just how bad it looks.. You know... For science? edit: I wonder how this would look if you used an EPM-1 short. Yes, your gun will be kinda tall but you'll also get 170 round midcaps!
-
Strange, especially for a brand new gun. Have you checked for gunk inside and made sure nothing is broken? You could also try purging the magazine by emptying it completely and filling as usual but holding down the knocker valve for a second until it starts spitting out 144a. Check the recoil buffer in the stock tube too, not that it should break that quickly but might as well exhaust all your options.
-
Do you mean the Angrygun MPA nozzle? You can increase and decrease power on it, as you could with the original. Iirc theres a video where they got it to 420fps with 0.2
-
The MWS has regular AEG threads and takes AEG barrel nuts. However, if you are using the stock outer barrel you will need a few millimeters of outer barrel shims or an “adapter ring” for the MWS, because the TM outer barrel “lip” (not sure what to call it) is out of spec and requires shims if you use an aeg barrel nut or the outer barrel will not be secure and wobble a lot.

I’ve had really good results with the Autobot and cold temperatures. I think the coldest I played in was -1 and I had no trouble hopping bbs consistently. Issue was red gas just couldn’t perform at that temperature 😅
-
It would be interesting to see the difference you get when you swap out to the MR bucking, since it’s supposed to be the best bucking for range and comparable to a flat or rhop. I haven’t been able to get a hold of one since they’re always out of stock when I order stuff so I currently use a 60 degree Autobot and Omega nub. I think a concave or flat nub should offer superior performance over the Sixg nub due to a larger contact area with the bucking contact patch and thus more gentle and consistent contact with the BB, but honestly only testing will actually prove any of this!

So Angrygun are selling a new Gen 2 version of their MPA nozzle: https://www.angrygun.com/products/enhanced-drop-in-complete-mpa-nozzle-set-for-marui-mws-m4?_pos=9&_sid=b2839764e&_ss=r Anyone been able to try this? When I had the AG BCM complete bolt carrier that was defective, I was in contact with Angry Gun directly who did say that they were producing a gen 2 of the nozzle to fix issues like the piston head being too large. Their facebook post in which they stress tested the nozzle for 2000 rounds of full auto with a HPA drum mag says "2. Improved the Nozzle Front Part fall off". I wonder if this refers to the gen 1 nozzle sometimes e j e c t i n g the adjustment screw for the npas out through the barrel.
