Cool, thanks man I'll keep that formula in mind. I was actually really pleasantly surprised about the lifetime of the .030 battery. Like I said, I took a spare for that and didn't even need to use it, actually hit more players with that than the M4 too, god bless a good old fashioned flank

Hi guys, I've had a quick google on this subject and I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for - even though I'm sure that this is a frequently asked question. Anyway... I've had airsoft guns for a long time now, but usually just for back yard shooting (or "plinking" as I hear it's called). I have a G&G M4 and a cyma 030 AEP glock. I've started going to skirmish days recently though, but last time my M4 battery died before the end of the day (before you say it - there are two spares in the post on their way to me!) - Luckily one of the regulars was kind enough to lend me a mini battery which lasted me until the end of the day. What I wondered though, was when should I put my batteries on charge? Last time, I charged them the evening before (from about 5PM-9PM) until the batteries were warm to the touch (as I've been advised that this is a good indicator of when a battery is fully charged). The skirmish started the following day at 10AM, so the batteries were idle for 12 hours or so... Would this affect the performance of the batteries? For the next skirmish, would I better off waking up at say 5AM on the day, putting the batteries on charge and then going back to bed while they charge? I'm not so clued up on batteries so any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cal.

Its my understanding that without UKARA, spraying or adapting (I suppose mainly a two-tone) gun is classed as "manufacturing" and is technically illegal, although this is a very grey area. Don't quote me on it with tape though, the rules might be different for spray and tape.

Me and a friend will be using Morotola FV300's in our next skirmish - I've owned them for a while and tested them (not in a skirmish) over a very long distance and they're great, and cheap! The ad says the'll reach up to 10 miles, and since my test the other day, I believe them! Hey man. As a newbie myself, I'd highly recommend the Cyma 030 Glock AEP. There are several reasons for this: It's cheap and cheerful, but it gets the job done. It's FPS is somewhere between 200 and 240, so it's enough, but there's no excess of firepower. I got mine for £75.00, two-toned. It's an AEP, that means battery powered - this means the only cost of shooting it is the cost of the BBS (and the mains to charge it up). There are hundreds of upgrades available for it - it is basically the same as a TM glock18, so all the parts fit perfectly. Since I got mine, I've bought a weaver rail attachment with a silencer thread, a red dot to sit on the weaver, a 14mm silencer and a 100 round extended magazine and a spare battery! You can get new springs, gearboxes etc. to up your FPS if you really need to as well. The main reason I suggest it though, is as above - you should really hire an AEG from the sites you're playing at and get an idea of what you like, then when you've got UKARA you can get one that's not two-toned. I think most sites would be fine with letting you renting an AEG but bringing the glock along as a side arm, so you can get the best of both worlds!

Thanks for letting me know about the respraying, I'll keep my CM030 two-toned for now then! However, when you say "a defence", wouldn't the same apply? i.e. "I'm going skirmishing in the woods so I'm painting this in a woodland theme". I understand that's a little extreme and silly but you should get me point... Cheers.

Hey guys, I've been a "backyard plinker" for a long time now, and I own some RIFs that I purchased before the whole UKARA thing was even around... This weekend I'll be going airsofting for the first time, and I've found a site (which I won't name for now) that tells me I'm welcome to bring along my RIFs, as UKARA only affects BUYING RIFs, not using them... I was wondering if that's a commonality of most airsoft sites? I always thought that most places required UKARA for use of non two-tone RIFs. If most sites will let you use a non two-tone RIF, then I've got some spraying to do on the new rifle's I've acquired recently, because let's be fair - they look rubbish in two-tone, and it's neither expensive nor difficult to take (most) guns apart and re-spray them!
