  1. Oh, yes I see what you were talking about now. Definitely staying away from Bio's now as a number of them split when shooting them and gunked up my mag and barrel. As @Davegolf said, they are just too soft for the MWS.
  2. I run tracers most Wednesdays in the World War 2 Tunnels down in Portsmouth and never had a problem. I have the ASG B&T Tracer unit with Madbull .2 Tracers and it works perfectly. @Wo1f I was looking at getting some Geoff's tracers as they come in heavier weights. Although down in the tunnels, with no wind etc and short engagement distances .2s are more than adequate.
  3. @itsme Not wanting to answer for @Wo1f as he is the originator and a huge font of knowledge but I can't see how it could cut the bucking. The edges are not severe enough and the distance the bucking will push into the concave is not enough to cause damage. Just my opinion of course. On another note, having changed my barrel from standard to an Olga 6.05 250mm with the Modify Tan bucking and SixG super nub. I was wondering how it would increase my FPS. Having been cronoed the previous week at UCAP The Bunker using Abbey Vortex with .2 tracers at 270 FPS. Back at The Bunker on Wednesday using the same gas and the same .2 tracers it is now coming out as 300 fps with a deviation of 2 fps either way over 10 shots. Very consistent. One moment of note, I was guarding an objective and aiming down a long tunnel. We could see the enemy creeping along in the dark. One of my team mates stated "Don't fire yet as you wont reach them". Basically he had just shot and reached about half way (He had spent 5 minutes listing all the upgrades he had fitted whilst in game!). Like a red rag to a bull, I took aim and fired a single tracer round, it rocketed down the tunnel with no deviation, sailed past the point matey boy's AEG shot dropped to the floor and cracked the lead guy in the chest plate. "Hit"... and the rest of the tangos scurried off into the darkness. Followed by a "Hmmm, wow" from the guy behind me. He collared me in the safe zone asking question after question. We may have another convert.
  4. Cheers @Davegolf I will switch back to normal BBs. Gas wise I have a full can of Guarder Power Up Gas that I could use. I will be playing in the Tunnels down in Portsmouth on Wednesday which can be pretty cold. My MWS was chronoing on the Abbey Vortex Gas at 270 fps so there is a bit of movement available. Hopefully the new barrel and the stronger gas won't push it over 350 fps?
  5. @itsme I didn't have to replace the barrel as yes it would have fitted on the original. I wanted to fit a tighter bore to try and increase the FPS a little as it was running at around 270 fps. Damn @LVOA-D, that makes my £8 gas block look completely crap!!! Looking good!!!!!
  6. Upgrade time!! I ran the CQBR totally stock on Wednesday at the Bunker in Portsmouth. Ran faultlessly and was shooting like a laser on .20 tracers. Crono’d At 270 FPS on Abbey Vertex gas. Having already bought a Modify Tan Bucking and a SixG Super Nub, I wanted to fit them so I ordered an Orca 6.05 250mm Barrel. I have to say props to The Cage Airsoft. I order the barrel Friday early afternoon and it was in my hands Saturday morning with standard delivery!! Got round to fitting the parts on Sunday. I started off getting a bench mark by firing .25 bb’s. I did some video but you can’t really see the bb’s flying so pretty pointless! They were reaching out to about 50m maybe a little shorter. Stripped the MWS and fitted the parts. Pretty simple despite it being the first time I have ever done anything like this before. Loaded the mag up with .4 bb’s and after a little bit of hop adjustment they were flying straight and true. Judging by eye the .4s are still motoring some when they pass the point at which the pre change .25 bb’s drop down. Very impressed! 2 things of note, I had to put the hop up fully on to get the .4 bb’s to fly straight. Is this correct? As in are .4’s the heaviest you can fire? Also I was using BLS Ultimate Heavy .4 Bio BBs (got them from Camoraids when I purchased the rifle). A few of the bbs split as they came out of the end of the barrel and I noticed that the magazine follower had a white line on it with what looked like bb residue. Having never used bio bbs is this normal??
  7. Cool, sounds good. They are exactly the parts I was after!! I look forwards to hearing from you. 👍 You may have an addictive personality but you will end up with the coolest toy!!!
  8. @LVOA-D You are a braver man than I am and I used to race Cars at nearly 200mph! If you are going to sell the bits you don’t need then I would be interested in the Rail/Outer Barrel etc. 😜
  9. @LVOA-D Is it not worth contacting Angry Gun direct and seeing if you can just purchase the John Wick Upper on its own?? You never know, you got a 15% discount! Maybe suggest that they sell the whole thing as separate bits of kit as it is more than the price of 1 1/2 MWS if bought here in the UK. They may get more sales if people can buy it in stages.
  10. Of course, its international you don't pay VAT. My excuse is that it was early and I was sat at my desk pre coffee!!☕
  11. Gents, I was just looking at the european shops you were talking about, wow you guys pay a lot for the MWS!! Not far off £600 for the guys who have stock!! Fire Support here in the UK have stock of the MWS for £479.99 which comes out as around €547. Obviously you would have to factor in shipping, import taxes (??) but you would also be taking off the VAT (20%) as they cannot charge you if you are in not in the UK. It could be a way to go especially looking at the prices you guys pay. One thing I don't know is if they would ship outside the UK but then again we are still in the European Union.
  12. Last night before heading off to The Bunker, I borrowed one of those wheel measuring thingies off a surveyor neighbour and measured the distance from shooting spot to target spot. 51.4 metres 👍😉
  13. @itsme With a tight bore barrel, the SixG Super Nub and a Modify Tan bucking, guys are getting .4s out to 80m consistently. As stock my CQBR is sending .3s out to 50m - 60m (measured by eye as don’t have a range finder). I have a couple of super nubs and modify tan buckings so plan on fitting to see how it changes the range. Although don’t know if it is worth it on the CQBR as it is already shooting way further than I will ever need where I skirmish indoors.

  15. Hi @itsme, They are both the same apart from (as you said) the barrel length. 250mm on the CQBR and 330mm(???) on the M4A1. The internals are identical apart from that. The photos above your post are of my CQBR. It all depends what you are going to be using it for. If you are outdoors, then maybe go for the longer version or if you are indoors/CQB then the CQBR is perfect. In fact the CQBR in stock form is still amazing outdoors and easily out performs my AEG. I went the CQBR route as I play a lot in the underground tunnels and the prison down in Portsmouth. That said I am looking to purchase a second one and create an outdoor specific version. I assume you have read through the topic pages (lots of) as there is a treasure trove of information and there are lots of guys on here that know way more than me ( @Wo1f @Davegolf etc). Let us know which way you go.
  16. All fitted and looking low profile. Took no time at all but make sure you have some very small punches to pop the pins bout of the foresight. I co-witnessed the holosight before removing the front and rear iron sights so it should be pretty close to sighted. Off the the UCAP Bunker in Portsmouth tonight so it will be the first skirmish with the MWS!! Exciting!
  17. Having looked at the VLTOR gas blocks and being shocked at the price of them. I decided give a cheaper option a go first. Ordered this low profile gas block to replace the front sight version and so far I am impressed. Made of machined aluminium and should look sweet once it’s on. Best thing is it only cost £8 from Patrol Base!! 👍
  18. I wish I hadn't asked now..... that image will always stick with me!! I am going to go home and cuddle my MWS tonight!. Gentlemen, a minutes silence for @LVOA-Ds upper please. I hope you get an upper sorted soon. I will keep an eye out as well.
  19. Quick question @LVOA-D, How did you break your upper??😯
  20. Before I did the green gas mod on mine I got around 40 (one full mag then a couple more once refilled with BBs). That was on Abbey Predator Ultra Gas. After the mod I easily got 3 mags on a single fill and it fired a few no trouble out of a 4th refill.
  21. @Wo1f That does make sense. The BBs I was using were a bottle of ASG Blasters that I had inherited when I bought a Second hand AEG last year. I assumed they were new as it was a full bottle. When I put them back in the cupboard after using them and the mag jamming I noticed they a number of them were tracers and glowing. I assume now that they are a miss match that the guy just bottled up. I will chuck them when I get home and use the new ones I bought. Thanks for the pointer 👍
  22. Is it just me that got very nervous and a sweaty top lip when I read this!! 😳 You are a braver man than I am @rocketdogbert!! 😉 on another note, I have had my first issue with my CQBR (well one of the magazines at least). I was testing distance with the stock bucking etc when I got a miss feed and the bolt didn’t lock back. On removing the magazine I saw that the bb’s were sitting about 5mm below the feed lip as can be seen in the photos. I haven’t had chance to strip it yet but I assume either the follower has got jammed or the spring has snapped. Guess I will find out when I strip it. 😡
  23. In the words of the modern day poet, Ice Cube “I gotta say, today has been a good day”!! a few goodies turned up today including the War Mag reloader that @Immortal recommended. Works perfectly although I assume the winding handle Is prone to breaking as they send your 2!! Green Gas mod now done on all the mags, going to fill them to test for leaks then do a bit of chronoing with it stock.
  24. Excellent bit of info there Immortal. I will set it up tonight when I get home. Gotta love this forum!
  25. I was hoping to avoid using one to keep the sight as close to the barrel as possible for quick sighting. if that’s the only option then I will go that way.
