Border force have ceased my hpa tank from Belgium too. Was a shark .68l carbon tank costing over £200 🤦‍♂️… customs suck.

I got mine from eu but expect to pay about £100 in customs and handling fees.

So don’t I feel stupid right now … my chrono was set to meters per second 🤦‍♂️ Its actually firing hot at around 330fps on .4g bbs! That’s like 500fps on .2g bbs 😳 on a blue (mid fps) nozzle.

My hpa tank arrived today for a new polarstar build I’ve been working on and my chrono is telling me it’s shooting at only 100fps (consistently). Im feeding the fusion engine 130psi from a 3000psi tank on .4g bbs. Every single piece of kit is new including the chrono so I’m not sure where to start tbh. Here’s my setup: - vfc Avalon sabre (maple leaf bucking 6.03 barrel as standard) - fusion engine gen 3 with blue nozzle - amped line (internal and external) - xcortech x3300w chrono/ silencer - polarstar mr regulator - speed trigger Everything is untuned as it came from the shop, including standard fcu settings. Any ideas what on earth ive done?! 😕 😬

I’m really torn tbh. I had planned to put a prs stock on it, a decent sized silencer and run mid caps. It would be a really versatile platform with the fusion engine too and It wouldn’t look out of place running full auto in cqb or semi auto as a dmr In woodlands etc .... in fact I can’t think of many disadvantages now, other than some sites not allowing m4 builds to run higher dmr fps. I guess I would also need to think about a way to lock it to semi auto without any permanent changes.

Cheers dude. I’m running a hpa fusion engine though, so it’s v2 only for me. I’m going to order the g&g sr25 knights armament version tomorrow and buy the polarstar conversion kit they make, so that I can run a standard m4 hop/inner barrel. Any recommendations on hop and barrel? ... I’m thinking maple leaf. Ps: I will be selling my new, unused (never fired) m4 vfc Avalon sabre with three mags for £320 ovno soon. Keep an eye out on the buy/sell page or pm me if anybody’s interested but I will be waiting till the g&g arrives before I sell. Only reason I’m selling is because Im building a dmr and overlooked the whole 5.56 / 7.62 thing. I just hope the g&g looks and feels as nice externally 😬 I will also be selling the g&g g2 gearbox, hop barrel and motor.

I’ve rented a few times. The place near me allows higher fps for semi-auto rif’s. 450fps in fact 😈 Strongly thinking or getting the G&G sr25 but I’m trying to figure out if the knights armament (kac) version is also compatible. It looks like polarstar offer an extended nozzle and spacer for the standard SR25 ... not sure about the kac version though 🤔 I guess as long as it has the v2 gearbox it should be ok 🤷‍♂️

Hi, I posted in the welcome forum a few weeks ago regarding a new Polarstar build I’m working on but I think this question requires it’s own thread. Basically I’m getting into Airsoft and have everything I need to build a HPA’d DMR. I purchased a VFC Avalon Sabre as the donor, which is a long M4 along with a PRS stock, scope, polarstar engine and silencer - essentially it will end up looking like an AR15. My dilemma is that this is obviously not a cheap build, so I want to get it right. I’d like to run a platform that is versatile, having the option to configure to run cqb if I felt the need. This versatility is why I went with the M4 in the first place, however I’m reading a lot of hate for DMR’d M4’s. This seems to be largely due to the smaller caliber - I hear the argument that a real DMR should run .308 or similar but I can’t figure out if this is the common conception or just the opinion of a select few who like the ultimate realism (I’m not knocking it if that’s your thing). Due to this stigma, I’m now considering if I should have gone for a .308 RIF like the G&G TR16 .308 instead. I plan on playing normal skirmishes for now, so perhaps this isn’t as bigger issue as I’m making it but I’d like the option of playing some light milsim if I wanted to later done the line. Would an AR15 build like the one I planned fly playing as a support / DMR or would this raise eyebrows? ... obviously this will be locked to semi auto; and If I was to change platform, how would the G&G TR16 compare to the VFC Avalon externals? .. because the externals on the Avalon are just epic IMO. Whatever i decide to do, I want to keep the polarstar engine in the DMR as bought it for consistency and accuracy not spamming full auto. Any advice? ... thinking out loud here, but the other option I’ve considered is running with the M4 as the primary and getting a sniper on my back for when I get into position (though this probably ain’t the best use of the polarstar engine or my money). 🤦‍♂️ 🤔😕🤷‍♂️

Thanks for all the advice, I appreciate it First and foremost I’d like this to be a DMR build, however I do like the idea of having a RIF that’s versatile too, allowing me to run and gun (potentially on full auto); or even CQB with a little pre-game setup of course! I’m currently trying to decide between tuning the RIF to fire .36g BB’s, which may fall short in the DMR territory (+ proving expensive when in full auto); and running .40g+ BB’s for DMR and ~.25g BB’s full auto and adjusting the hop-up to compensate. Is this a terrible idea? 😬 ... perhaps I could save a little and get another RIF for shorter play styles - but then it would be a shame to waste the potential of the Fusion engine, huge air tank and super fast regulator. The kit I have so far ... - VFC Avalon sabre - Polarstar Fusion v2 - 1-4x primary arms classic variable scope - Polarstar Mr gen 2 regulator - Shark composite 68cl 4500psi tank - Amped HPA leads The kit I’m considering, includes: - PRS height adjustable stock - Longer barrel (internal and external) - Xcortech X3300W chrono suppressor - Mid cap mags Anything else I’m missing?

Thanks for this post, it’s very informative So are you still trialing the Valkyrie BBs then? How do they compare? Im confused about BB weights tbh. I read from multiple sources that increasing the BB weight holds the speed better, which seems logical. However because we are keeping under 1.9 jules, we must run less fps and according to a few online range calculators the best range is running at 450fps 0.2g - unless I’ve used the calculator wrong which is possible! So my question is, price aside, are we always better running heavier bbs with less fps for max range? Also, did your ambidextrous selector switch require any modifications when running with the fusion? Thanks,

tbh whilst browsing I managed to find somewhere that imported from the eu and I couldn’t stop myself 🤦‍♂️ I’m now waiting for the fusion to arrive in the post. Talking of limits, what bb weight would you recommend for outdoor range, considering it’s for use in a dmr fusion build? I’ll be using a vfc avalon saber rid, my local limits for a semi-auto dmr are 450fps or 1.9j. If I’ve done the calcs correctly that’s about 450fps on .2g about 360fps on .3 🤔

I just need to finish my man cave in the basement first, so that I have somewhere to hide my toys from the wife 😆 Sadly the stock for the fusion engine seems to be none existent here in the uk atm and I sure don’t fancy paying brexit/customs prices 😳 ... if the fusion (v2) engine is spotted for sale anywhere in the uk please pm me.

That Wolverine looks very nice tbf. .... I’ve been busy and managed to pick up an unused, open box VFC Avalon Saber Carbine v2 as my donor gun. My dilemma now is that I’m without a battery or charger and if I continue with the polarstar build I’ll never have anything to compare it too 🤔. I suppose I could pick a battery set up but I’ll likely never use them again, so a bit of a waste of cash. I’m still leaning towards the Fusion so will have an unused VFC Avalon motor and gearbox available. How much do these typically go for?

Hi, I'm fairly new to Airsoft however i've played enough to know that i'd like to invest more in it. I'm looking to build a setup that will last and can be modified and tweaked as required. I'm currently leaning towards a Polarstar Fusion rig with a budget of ~ £1k. Although building airsoft guns is completely new to me, I'm pretty handy when it comes to technical stuff and enjoy a challenge, so I remain optimistic (...or perhaps naive 😆). I'd really like some recommendations on donor guns. I'd like something thats highly configurable, durable, and looks/feels solid that can be matched with the fusion engine, preferably metal bodied (although i'm open to having my mind changed). I'm also leaning towards a DMR setup or at least I'd like to move in this direction! Would a used rig be recommend for this? ...and is there anything to look out for apart from the cosmetic condition (considering im ripping the internals out)? ...any particular brands to go for, or steer clear of? Quick costing, please tell me if i'm way off the ballpark here. Fusion Engine ~£400 Tank & regulator ~£200 Donor gun ~£400 Scope (whats the sweet spot price wise?) Best, Bob
