if i had a t1 and 3x flip-to-side magnifier to sell, should i put it in the parts or gear section?! arguments could be made for both.

You have a valid point but I would recommend parts as gear is normally for rigs and clothes.

Agree with Trigger, but honestly for these sorts of things there's a fair amount of expected cross-contamination where those who've made mixed posts (for example selling a whole load of kit - including both clothing and accessories). I don't think you'd ever have a post modified for putting optics in either forums nor really anything else. Obviously guns have their relevant sections though.
