https://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/product/bsa-advanced-1-4x24-illuminated-center-dot-riflescope/ Excellent little scopes with a nice bright sight picture, wide field of view and the perfect amounts of magnification for Airsoft. £40.

The first problem is caused by having no hop dialed in. There's nothing to hold the BB in the hop between cycles so it just rolls out of the barrel. The rest of it I'll have to think about!

You know when you order something from China and you don't have very high expectations because it was cheap, so it's a copy, so it'll be a bit meh....? That was a pleasent surprise, and now I wish I'd bought two! -

Bought for work, but I am so having these for airsoft! Half the price of the Mechanix Impact, comfier and on first impressions, better made. -

The 900 round fat mag for my DSG pistol turned up. This should be fun next weekend.... -
Now I have to decide...G3 DMR or G21 LMG?

Now the others really do look like toy guns...

A little drive in the country and I now own a disassembled but complete Marui G3 SG1. I've never had a gun that came with a box. At least not the one it was supposed to be in. It came with a 7mm gearbox, a bunch of Systema parts, two motors, a RIS as well as all the original parts. And as a bonus it's got a metal receiver kit fitted. Always liked the G3, and now I've got one. -
Latest creation. This is genuinely put together from leftovers and salvaged bits. It doesn't owe me anything except the ready mag. 43rps DSG, 310FPS, space in the ready mag for a 2500mah 11.1v lipo, or whatever I can find to shove in there. It still does 28rps on 7.4v and only pulls 22A doing it. I might even get round to putting some paint on it.

I eventually gave in and bought a proper pinion tool. So nice motors with weak magnets have been combined with rubbish motors with good magnets and I now have cracking motors which more than paid for the tool. Although I might have to do a lot of Frankenmotors before I can justify the Gate Titan that's sitting on the bench... -
Bit of a make over for my CQB M4.

My other half might have some interesting views on exactly what sort of artist....

Eventually got around to finishing my AK bullpup. From this... To this... The weathering looks better to the eye than the camera, but I'm happy with the way it's turned out.

I wasn't going to buy anything much at the Combat South Boot sale this morning, but I've been looking for an AK chassis for a project, and lurking behind one of the tables was the most horrible looking SRC RPK... it was covered in camo tape, had been beat up... This picture flatters it. 30 quid. And after poking it with a stick of actually works! -

The stock is actually shorter than a collapsible stock fully extended, does look enormous in that pic though. And you had to go and say it, didn't you! I'd talked myself out of doing a DMR, about four times. There's not much point to them, they don't serve any real use on an Airsoft field... But that would look really good set up as a DMR... Bugger! The idea was to have a bit of a change around. Put the nice internals off my current primary in that receiver and rail with the Battlelink stock, then other bits would filter down until there was a little pile that would become a 35 rps M4 based SAW. Hmm, rethink perhaps. -

After my last second hand purchase I wasn't expecting too much... There's a couple of little bits missing, but that's an excuse to buy shiny cnc doodads. It even runs and shoots OK. The gearbox doesn't show any wear, and there's never going to be a problem fitting batteries in that stock! Quite pleased for £120 including postage. -

I swore I wasn't going to buy another second hand gun after the last one... http://forums.zeroin.co.uk/showthread.php?288345-G-amp-P-Full-stock-M4-Cheap! But the receiver and the rail are worth what I paid. Hopefully the rest doesn't need to be put in the bin... -
The grip tape in the relief on the mag is a nice touch.

I wonder if it's because broadly speaking we can categorise different price ranges as follows. Cheap and cheerful. Can be made to shoot really well with some careful mods. Expensive. Built with good parts and attention to detail. Works straight out of the box. Mid range. Looks the nuts but a quick look inside reveals the same internals as the cheap and cheerful gun, OR not all that exciting to look at but actually really well made and put together (eg ICS). Just a quick look around my local site puts most of the guns in the first three categories, with a surprisingly small number buying the sensible, well made mid range item.
