  1. Just finished servicing and upgrading my ancient CA M16A2.. mosfet, flat-hopped, shim job, air seals all done - popped an SHS m110 in and its firing 444 fps consistent - that has gotta be a mislabeled spring 😂 !!!!

Just tested the 320 fps VN spring in the A2 - putting out 425... boss mode air seal confirmed 😅 gonna cut about 6 coils off the m110 and see what happens - should really do it a couple coils at a time but really i'm losing my patience, really wish that this GB had QD spring - alas its an old CA 7mm m15 GB shell.

I would be looking at the Air Seal on your VN if I were you! ha :)

An M90 spring only costs a fiver. Would be much better then a spring cut down by that amount.

Mmm that 320 is more or less as it should be as far as i'm aware, the VN was a home build including the GB and I always try and do at least a half decent job on the air seals.

Anyway, So I took 6 coils off and crimped the end of the spring under a flame - got it down to around 365. Opened it up again swapped the bearing spring guide out for a very bog standard solid metal ACM one - and now it sits pretty much smack on 350 - DONE! 😪    It feels like a very short spring now though, it pretty much just sits in the gearbox flush without having to be pushed into the shell; made reassembly easier than usual!
