Yeah. Maybe the best solution is somewhere in between lol But as of yet.. my mags are still holding the gas. I will check them day by day incase of a slow leak. But given the length of time I'd of thought if there was any damage it would have been absolutley fubar.

So I've gassed up the mags with no obvious leaks. Left them to stand for a short while and still no obvious leaking. Fired off about 20 shots from each. No leaks. Looks like I've been lucky.

I saw someone mention the SA VZ58. Im really tempted to start a project with one of these later in the year inspired by the use of it in Strike Back. Yeah I get that it's just an airsoft toy. I suppose my advice was based on the assumption that the 417 being a DMR IRL would be a DMR in airsoft form.. but it appears my assumption was wrong. So ignore me.

I mean the fact it's an assault rifle as opposed to a marksman rifle it's a bit more suited to everything and is more 'adaptable' I'm that sense. So in my eyes as a starting rifle it would be the better option of the two.

I've ordered 3 bottles of the stuff now. I will see how it goes and look at some other stuff if needed.

I would say if you're just starting out a 416 would give you more options going forwards. It's a bit more adaptable.

Okay no matter what I type in the search bar it doesn't work. But I Googled KWA Glock Gas and found somewhere recommending green gas so I've bought some WE Nuprol Green Gas.

Cam anyone recommend which gas I should be using? I can't remember what I used to have. Is there even any difference between gas?

Hmmm. I cant decide if my project should be a British loadout in which case it'd likely be a L192A1. Or whether to go down a PMC style tactical AK. Which will probably be cheaper. Anyway, as to not hijack this thread... i really like the new HK G28.

Not an L129A1? Im looking at doing one as a project gun over a few years but dont really know what to start with. Although an L86 would be tempting if you could get it somewhere like the one in the middle. Albeit id ditch the bipod for a grip pod and ditch the rear grip.

Unfortunately I have the technical ability of a chocolate teapot. Where are the O Rings and valves? I've seen how to take the slide off so I'm cool with that. Would a air duster be suitable for removing the dust? Or am I likely to send little parts flying.

All, Today i managed to clamber into the loft and have a good search around for my Glock 19. Now it hasnt been fired in at least 4 years. Nor has it been cleaned or oiled or anything like that. Both mags have been entirely empty for this duration also. What sort of maintainance will i need to perform before getting it to a game ready side arm? Please note, as im a noob might need a bit more of an explanation of bits. But i understand the mags are likely fucked as theyve been dry for 4 or so years?

In terms of simple flashlights I use a LED Lenser P7.2 at work and they are amazing. It has a very good wide focus and the spot beam lights things up in crystal clear light from between 30-50m outdoors depending on the elements. I know for a fact you can get a universal mount for them which would easily clamp on to an outer barrel which given your chosen grip could be beneficial for you. There is also a removable pressure switch you can buy for it for dirt cheap. Edited

Ahhhh that gets me all choked up. Looks exactly like mine did. I do miss it. But i dont miss the 40 minute drive along the shittest A road in the country after a night shift. Plus my eco sport is saving me money, which comes in handy after just purchasing a house and getting married this year. Lol

Am i being silly or could i not just get 2/3 cheaper pairs of teh same goggles and alternate them throughout the day so they dont get as fogged up? Sure the sweatier and hot you get they'll fog up anyway but its not on top of other sweat then.. it sounds logical to me, probably means im wrong lol

I never really got a decent paintball mask as i spent most my time marshelling so never really got fogged up. Those ESS Turbo Fans look the part. Think i will invest in a pair. To be honest looking at those mesh goggles did make me question how safe they were, i mean, im sure they are safe but i wouldnt feel comfortable wearing them.

Yeah that's what im looking at. Seen a few half face masks that are decent. I just don't know whether a mesh goggle or standard goggle would be better. I Suppose i'll have to go look.

Well i was looking at doing like a mesh face and then potentially mesh goggles as well. Is it just dark where your eye parralax doesnt see the mesh but obviously doesnt get as much light in or can you see the mesh?
