  1. I have 2 Mk 23's. I stupidly lost the suppressor from the first, so my cheapest option was to buy another full kit. Basically, my replacement suppressor came with a free pistol and a spare magazine.

Used it in the cold last week, and one fill of gas emptied 2 magazines of 26 rounds each. Can't recommend it enough.

And did I mention that it's massive?

Do you run any attachments? The feild and days that im going to be aminly attending is cqb and the last time I went ( Which was also my first) I didn't take a flash light, it was pitch black, I relied on teamates flash lights haha.

    Any recomendations for flashlights?

  2. Thanks for all the info, is there any reference as to the look you want, I know some people find an image of what they liked and built that as best they can, have you done the same?

and do you currently have anything purchased?

  3. 5.11 Tactical do a range of Storm grey kit including chest rig, saw it in an article in Airsoft Action a few months ago. Think it may be sold by Military 1st. Not the same as police kit but gives a grey load-out.

    Thats awesome, thanks dude :)

  4. It's already been said that a pistol isn't a good idea for a first weapon and I do agree with that point. To be honest though if you're mostly going to the Wednesday games then it's going to very much limit your options to either a pistol, shotgun or gas smg.

What's your available budget? We can make better recommendations knowing how much you're willing to spend.

like 200-300 including the needed beginner stuff, could proberly streach to more as i can buy some of the stuff without a ukara defence and then just purchase the gun after the three games

  5. All the rental pistols are g17s of some brand or other - never used one so never asked which. Pretty sturdy guns from what I've seen though, just not my cup of tea (everyone has a glock of some sort at some point).

Depending on who turns up (and what night) you'll see everything from cheap single shot shotguns, GBB mp7s of varying brandsand tri shot shotguns all the way up to HPA kitted rifles/Tippmans. The HPAs are the reason I try to attend just the shotgun/pistol nights since the HPA guys usually end up dominating what part of the site they're on. At least with the pistol/shotgun nights you're all on a similar playing field in terms of weapon range.

Whenever I go I always pack my mk23 and a few of the other guys there run one as well. A lot of fun for sneaky/virtually silent shooting at unsuspecting enemies and teammates (friendly fire is a lot more common obviously).

Oh, and bring a flashlight of some sort. You'll need one if you've never played at the site before.

Thanks for the advice, any adivce on a first gun? Primarilay going to be cqb spring and gas at the gaol as most places seem to run skirmishes on a sunday which is the one single day I cant attend.

I was thinking a glock of some kind but have been adivced against it haha.

  6.

Do not get a pistol as a primary, you will regret it.

Not planning on it anymore, just wanted to know what people run as its cqb and spring/gas only, looking for ideas so I can start shopping around, when I go and hire from there before I get my UKARA I will only be renting which is just pistols so I can't really get a feel for anything more than that.

  7. Glocks are always a good choice. The Marui clones (and indeed the Marui ones) are great and easy to find parts for. They're generic, but they get the job done.

As for CQB, gas is a good bet because of the trigger respsonse. Springers don't fire fast enough but lots of people get by with the springer tri-shot shotguns. AEGs are fine too really but you might lose out on those corner shots if you're up against someone who can fire a bit quicker. In reality though you'll probably just trade kills.

You can certainly get by in CQB with an AEG if that's what you're asking. When starting out, dumping money on a pistol is almost always a bad idea because they're not very versatile and can be pricey (magazines and gas). If you've not got an AEG then get something nice and generic if you're not sure what's best and then you'll always have something to fall back on if you find that the pistol/sniper rifle you think looks cool doesn't work out for you.

    As states,no age's sadly.

Guess I'll shop around and hopefully find a nice deal for when I get my ukara.

  8. So I am looking around at fields which suit my availability and it looks like the most convent is The Gaol as it runs games on Wednesdays and some Saturdays, there Wednesday games are gas and spring only which is the best avaliable day for me, because of this I plan on buying a pistol as my first weapon, I'm not sure which would be the best option in terms of efficiency, any help would be great.

  9. So I am completly new to airsoft and am looking to start playing after the new year and if I enjoy I plan on getting the full gear, Ideally I would like to play as a sniper however i'm not sure if its the best thing to start with in which case I am going to go for the M4 style. I'm just looking foor a ballpark region and if you dont mind giving me some gear recomendations, if there is already a thread similar to mine then I appologise.

Also, will I be the odd one out going lone wolf as none of my friends play however my university has a group of playing whom I may join if I enjoy.

    Many Thanks.
