  1. So if anyones wondering this place is still going strong. Ordered JG BAR 10 and a few other bits on Sunday night. Arrived today very well packaged and having been transported by UPS there were no issues with customs etc. I followed the advice earlier in this forum and put my UKARA no. as the business name on the address to be safe. Just put in another order tonight. 10/10 for taiwangun.com

  2. Hi, Just to let you know I've just received an order from taiwangun.com today (a JG BAR 10 sniper rifle plus scope and bipod). I ordered it on Sunday night.

No additional charges to pay as its coming from another EU country. Can't believe I've found this place, its awesome. Just ordered another £200's worth of stuff including pistol and a load of kit. Mad not to buy from them.

  3. Hi! I live in Berkshire and have done for so long I don't even pronounce the H on words starting with H anymore, 'owever, my family all still live in Scotland and I'm looking at taking my Airsoft gear up there next time I visit and getting my brother to go to a skirmish. I reckon he'd enjoy it being ex TA and closet military enthusiast.

So, where's good to go, he lives just outside Edinburgh, done a quick bit of googling and came up with Section 8 who look quite good. Anyone been there recently? Are there any other places worth a visit that aren't too much of a drive?

  4. Thanks folks. G and G it will be! Will finally get UKARA sorted out this month after many months of work getting in the way of me getting 3 games in within the time limit!

Look forward to being shot be some of you in the not too distant future :-/

  5. So how about an ICS cxp?, I have a uk1, similar quick change option, but slightly more money, so may be a factor or you?

I could probably stretch to that.

You just bolt keymod adapters on where needed.

Be careful of the milsim fps thing. We organise milsims in the UK and the limit for M4s etc is 350fps.

Dont get too obsessed with fps. G&G usually shoot at 320-330 fps out of the the box.

If you want to do milsims, worry more about availability of mid cap mags and things like that.

Do a search on Ares on here and have a read of some of the criticisms.

Thanks Baz. I'll look into that. Hadn't heard much about Ares so was a bit sceptical. On the Milsim thing haven't done one yet, still relatively new to this (although ex-military so some experience of some of the areas a lot of Milsims seem to be run at). Have you got any coming up soon or a link to your website?

  6. Not really bothered about the 3 round burst thing, I would probably leave it with single/auto. The attraction of the ares one was the easy change spring for Milsim stuff with higher FPS limit.

Have used a g and g as a hire recently and I did really like it.

How easy is it to fit side/bottom rails onto that particular G and G.................typical new guy question

  7. So we see these sort of threads a lot asking 'Which is the best......' etc but I've narrowed it down to 2.

I wanted a M4, something I can customise, something that will work for Skirmishing and Milsim and under £200

Would like to know peoples thoughts and experiences of these guns.....

  8. One thing nobody has mentioned but I used as a decision maker on the webbing v vest question when in the military was access. You can have all the pouches in the world but they're useless if you can't reach them easily when you need to.

Vest - Good for CQB, In vehicles (not really going to happen in airsoft), Any situation where you're standing most of the time.

Webbing - Best for normal field battles where you may be lying down or crouching in whatever cover is available.

Plate carrier - Good option if the budget allows as you can move your pouches to where they're going to best suit the situation. (This was always the option I used on ops, in fact I was issued an assault vest and literally never used it apart from on exercises.....lighter than body armour and pouches ;-) )

Hope that helps you Mr pond life and anyone else.

  9. Hi, Thanks for posting this, I'm in Berkshire and just starting out in airsoft. Came down to lane end for the first time last week! Had a great time and will be back.

Looking forward to checking out some of these other places, I know the manager from Zed Adventures (Mark, served with him in the forces) so will have to get down there at some point.

  10. Hello all, new to airsoft, did my first skirmish last Sunday and loved it. Just bought my first weapon, a fairly cheap two tone MP5 from Cyma. Should be good enough to get through a few days and get my UKARA and then I'll get something more suitable.

It'd be good to meet any airsofters from the area and hear about the best places to go.

Also anyone with any experience of the Cyma CM.023 MP5 too!
