haha yeah, what faq are you looking at dude ? Planned out machining, should have it done the weekend. Having some fun working on the hopup as thats the only thing i can do for the moment Profrinl, did you say you have any derlin ball's spare ? Will get a derlin ball ordered if not, im sure that lug screw cant help rubber after a few 1000 rounds.

Yes and no, i knew about everything else except the rear mill down for the valve. I didnt expect it to be easy, all good fun. He also kindly sent me some images of a past 416 build and pretty much the same thing was needed to be done.
-
Ok so after contemplating my next move, i will start destroying my receiver as paint gracefully demonstrates. Photoshop pro ! Red = removal for valve. Yellow = removal for feed. Also been looking at the Ra-tech forged receivers as a backup. Cheers
-
Well that was he entire reason for getting the 416 I did have a look around and very little was said about it. I also spoke to tony and he also confirmed that it would be fine. I knew material removal was part of the job but the only way to get the valve in is removing material from the back witch instantly destroys the buffer tube stopper. I'm going to look how well the receiver will take destruction, in the mean time I will also look at receivers that will take this better. Any recommendations ? Hmm

Hey all, good day as the kit has finally come. BUT there is a complication, the kit is not going to fit. Already contacted tony and awaiting a response. The trigger box fits snug but leaves no where near enough space for the valve to fit into the back and Mis-aligns with the rear pin. Also the bolt cannot go all the way forward as the charging handle stops it. Any ideas or suggestions ? Will add pics when I get on my pc. 😢

Had fun doing it . Was only a split second, but either way its only being used for testing the kit post installation. also the local scuba shop is 5 minutes away

The moral of the story is, dont mess with hight pressure infront of women

For the work involved in cutting the barrel, i may get a 1-2" extention. Atleast it leaves me more options for the future.
-
I honestly dont know, i breifly took it all appart and temporarily re-assembled for yesterday. I would agree but its certainly not 260mm, the closest i have seen so far is a 247mm and a 229mm. Will report back later once i take the actual lengh.
-
Its not a standard barrel dude, the old owner had a custom ris and barrel installed. Hence the wierd barrel lengh Ah cool, will take a look thankyou, if the entention is flush with the existing barrel then thats fine.
-
Yeah, well i have a noveski sound hog. If i can find a way to even slightly alter the outer barrel lengh without a fugly adapter poking around. Many choices and one way to do things.

Also, funny story. Got back on saturday from picking the scuba bottle up after its test. Plopped it down in the hallway and mildly opened the valve. "Bare in mind the misus was about 4 foot away" If the phrase blown away could have been used, it was then ! The misus fell backwards, while screaming. It was like slow motion matrix style movie. The blinds flying all over the place, women screaming with hair waving in the slight storm and the screach of air passing the tiny nozzle. Good job she was in a good mood haha, also very good for removing dust if anyone struggles with large open spaces !

No no, havent ordered anything yet. Had busy weekend inc skirmish yesterday so not had the time to pick out the barrel. I need to re-measure my current GBB barrel, i know its roughly around the 220mm mark. I really wanted a widebore and would rather not skimp on getting it right first time.
-
Cheers Yeah i did see airlab doing it when i got my last z-kit from them. Its just the time of getting it and sending it off, then having it back. I seriously need to scratch up on my patience skills. Well i had that madbull alu barrel and i have noticed scores inside the barrel . very much a measure 10 times cut once type situation. I have the equipment to cut steel or brass, its mainly crowning im not 100% on a £80 barrel.
-
Hmm, well planned to get widebore anyway so just means getting it earlier I have got to re-measure my current inner barrel as im sure its not even 260mm, id rather not have to get a longer rail and outer barrel just to accomodate the inner. Will have to see if anyone local does cut and crowning. I did my last one on a 560mm madbull but it was aluminium so easy to cut and dremmel. Whats your thoughts ?

Hey all Kit finally passed customs and in the end only payed £22 customs, inc handling fee.. HEE HEE, quiet shout out to TNK Will get it monday so the fun will comence. Profrink, i saw you mention about the rhop for your daytona. I have not long done my mk17 and its crazy good, does the daytona hop up take either Gbb or AEG barrels ok ? Hadnt factored in buying a orga magnus yet, what you think ? Cheers
-
I have some news !! The Daytona Kit is, STILL IN CUSTOMS !! Maybe its time to bash some pc games for a few days
-
Haha I dont disagree, i had my last skirmish with the GBB and 5 low caps. It was allot of fun. Like i said, i will get some mid caps soon
-
errrm no . Haha, i did get 4 high caps. For only two reasons. One, I needed more for my scar and two i cant stand wind wheel mags! I would rather sound like the doritos band is following me than stand behind a tree getting fired at, while fingering a magazine untill it clicks. Flash mags take two seconds with no fuss to wind up. I want to get some PTS mags some time but just for ease, high caps for the mo.
-
Maybe not today Was so hopefull at 12, not so now . I never realised how lax Customs really was. On the plus side, I striped the 416 down to its bare skin. Unscrewing the barrel coller was fun . Also ordered the 4 mags, saved £20 just by contacting the seller direct and not taking the ebay price as the final . Hope everyone is well.

Ace thanks dude, luckily i had the exact same conversation with PF and they said the same. Actually quite helpfull for a change. Considering it got there sunday afternoon, im going to hope its released tomorrow. It doesnt help looking around the net and seeing the horror storys people have with 2/3 week delays in customs I also noticed some other changes i may need to do to the lower receiver. The top pins above the selector are just dummy pins on the WE. Im pretty sure they need to be drilled out to fit the screw fitings to hold the kit in place.
-
exactly what you dont want to see when trying to get everything together ontime with 0 patients... Nooooooo! Anyone kind enough to share their customs experience ? Spoke to parcelforce and untill it enters their remit, they have litterally no control so time to sit and wait for the status to change .
-
Hehe will take a look, lukily my dads was a comercial and motorsport engineer so hes pretty good with tools if im uber stuck
-
Kit is in the UK somewhere so hopefully get that monday/tuesday as planned. while starting the strip down of the receiver, noticed a slight problem with installing a IGL... A lack of holes ! Looks like a vice and drill will be my next best friend! Bit tricky to drill any hole while preserving the thread and the strengh of the grip. Will be much easier to gauge once it all comes.

Hey all Things are starting to heat up! Had some fun with the HPA tap but it wasnt enough! So.... Should be with me some time next week if im good . I did a little vomit after paying it out but all for good causes. So far the HPA Build has gone way, way over what my inital plans were. HK416 + attachments and 5 mags £280 Bottle, reg, line and fill station: £318 TNK,spares and LOTS of LUBE £382 Scuba bottle inc test £65 Still gotta buy my AEG mags wich should roughly be £80. And of course the dreaded import duty that could be a max of £90 For the love of all things mighy, DO NOT DO THIS if you have a heart condition or suffer from dizzieness! Proffrink, how do you cope ? Cheers George
