Had it with the CM16, going to purchase a new AEG. Love M4's and looking for something a little more 'up market' than a Combat Machine - budget between £250-£350 - any recommendations?

Don't do what I did the other day. Crack open the side of the gearbox and spring popped out blowing everything out of the gearbox, lesson truly learnt.

Ok thanks, so assume a new spring will be needed for compression issue? Ah yes! that's what one of the fellas said now you've reminded me, how would I adjust motor height? I'd say it's likely he's been tinkering with it! Cheers for help. Adam

Hi All, I acquired a G&G CM16 from a friend around about a year ago, took it for it's first test today at local skirmish and this gun is plagued with problems. Firstly it seemed severely underpowered, when chrono'd one of the guys said it was around 150fps below site limit which is 350, not only that but the range was probably around 30 feet at the most and i was having to lift the gun up to compensate. Secondly, around about an hour in the handle/trigger became awfully hot, almost to the point of being unable to touch it, eventually the fuse blew and it melted the casing around it so i bypassed this by rigging it directly to the battery. When speaking to some of the regulars at site they thought it may be because the motor isn't seated properly or something. Any of you guys had similar before? Debating weather it's worth getting fixed or biting the bullet and buying a new gun.

Have they just come out of nowhere? only started seeing their stuff in the last 6 months.

Great news, not so bad by yourself is it. Sounds like you've caught the bug.

I had this dilemma around 18 months ago, in the end I just went solo and don't regret it as now i'm hooked, I only had to show my face 5 minutes before i was mingling with some of the regulars. We all have to start somewhere!

Ok guys laugh at your peril this is a ridiculous question but really wasn't sure so thought I'd ask.. Finally got my first AEG after using hires.. When I go to Skirmish next week and asked to Chrono my gun.. What exactly do I need to do? Is it a case of firing live BB's down the Chrinograph or do I leave it unloaded?

Hey all, Bought a G&G rifle months ago 2nd hand before I realised I need UKARA to actually own one. I have now completed 3 months and 2 games so do qualify and am in the process of sending off my application. But in terms of actually holding the licence - I don't. Is this going to be a BIG problem if I turn up on site with my own rifle without holding the licence? Probably need to get the gun chrono'd too before I turn up so I have peace of mind the gun isn't running too hot for the site.

What is the FPS straight out the box on a CM 16 Carbine? Bought one second hand on year only been used twice and was shooting around 370 FPS out the box, is this correct? My local site rules are max 350 FPS so not sure if I should swap the spring (or get someone else to) or is there a method of tweaking the hop up to bring it down a bit?

Forgot to mention. Seems it was the battery that was frying the fuses. Got a new one (albeit same model) and it appears to be fine. Has anyone ever experienced this before?
