Sold out already. £700 is ridiculous though, my latest project is cheaper than that with all aftermarket parts included

That's capitalism for you. How they say it? Price/value always depends on how much someone willing to pay for it.

are TM mws guns going out of style? seen a fair few up for sale recently

    Airsoft is everything but realistic.

Personally, I love my GBBRs, but the way I play I don't shoot that much (coming from that sniper role I'm used to not shooting much). I've converted one of my friends to GBBRs, but he's like me and doesn't run into ammo problems. It's very dependent on what you want to get out of the game. Mid-fight reloads, pistol transitions and ammo tracking are something I enjoy and I'll often be switching between my mags to make sure the freshest is available at all times, adding a fun element to the game for me, but it's very much not for everyone. Also, I love how it feels to shoot, as you get more of a kick than with a NGRS, and knew that I was going to convert to GBBRs as soon as I fired off my first mag from my AKM on the range.

However, if you want to play airsoft with the focus on shooting at other players and getting kills and doing objectives and winning games, GBBRs are not the way to go. For the price of a MWS plus mags, you could get a pretty nice NGRS build with all the bells and whistles and a rig full of EPM mid caps and probably still have change left over.

    "Airsoft is everything but realistic."

Never said airsoft is realistic I said GBBR is the most realistic thing you can get right now because certain things function exactly like on a real steel firearm. But if you don't count those features gbbr is simply too expensive and for the same money you can get better perfomance with HPA or a tuned AEG.  GBBR is extremely fun don't get me wrong but I could never justify to spend that much money on a gun and not just because I can't afford it. xD

SVD now hopping a .36 lovely, just need more power in my RPK and I'm ready for Survivor 2022 :D

    Sounds interesting!

What's your hop/rubber/nub set up please?

    Survivor sounds integuing tbh.

    strykerles

It's the standard hop unit with a ML 70 and omega nub. Gearbox wise I've put a m140 spring, an o ring nozzle and a stronger motor

Unfortunately I've had to keep the standard poly piston so we'll see how long if lasts.

    Currently doing 440 on a 0.2

Survivor is a  game run by west midlands airsoft

just that they always seem to take the buyers side and you have to jump through hoops to get anywhere

Anyone know if a warhead motor will work wired backwards like in a Cyma SVD?

    strykerles

I would say "DAMN YOU CYMA"

but it's a copy of the real sword so it's their fault

    DAMN YOU REAL SWORD!!!!

usually you'd just swap 2 of the wires on the motor to reverse a brushless motor, Fairly common in RC cars. I can't see the warhead been any different.

Maybe so but I'd rather not risk going full negative airsoft on a new motor ?

Been asked to try speedsoft, I politely declined with harsh language.

edit - I'm too fat and old for that slidey, divey stuff ?

I tried it.  Was different and yes it was fun.  Just not my thing, but at the same time it does throw in another different aspect.  Give it a go, you might like it or not.

Agreed, you should never reject any new activity until you've tried it at least once.

    UPDATE!!

turns out that the bearings at the piston head had fell apart and jammed up the gears

Stripped it, changed out the piston head, changed the spring and added a delayer chip and it now throws out 342fps with a .20 very quickly in auto

before I dive down a youtube wormhole does anyone know how to remove the cocking handle from a Cyma mp5k?

    Ace Airsoft War Games

We have Cyma MP5 Rentals, not the K version but it might be similar.
Only ever removed the slider by the way not the handle itself but found this for you.

"The cocking handle is disassembled by removing the upper receiver from the handguard and sticking a long philips head screwdriver down the FRONT IRON SIGHT housing. You need to remove the handguard pin as well in order to disassemble the front iron sight and access the screw to remove the charging handle."

To remove the cocking Slider & Spring:
Take out the push pins circled in the photo (probably have to take the top right one out too on the K version) and slide the grip and gearbox backward out of the receiver, attached to the gearbox should be a slider bar with a spring on it.
Inside the rest should be the slider, tilt it backward to remove the slider (should just fall out.

Apparently there's also a handle pin you have to punch out??
