Bit of a broad and almost redundant request I know, but every decent AK listing I've stumbled across over the last month or two has either been already snatched up before I can get to it, the seller goes AWOL and never logs back in, or is just a stock gun so close to retail price that I might as well buy retail. 

tl;dr my buddy wants to start coming airsoft with me and I don't fancy the idea of sticking a GBBR or my more expensive AEG's into the hands of a total newcomer. I want him to enjoy the game and maybe take the rifle on as his own and raise it up to be a big strong kalash (or a wee krink). But I also don't want to end up stuck with something I don't want either if he decides airsoft ain't for him. A dutty old full metal CYMA AK will always have a place in my heart. Because fuck M4's. 


Budget is around the £70-£200 range for secondhand stuff.  Would love to go higher but other financial commitments keep me from dropping money or a shiny new E&L or an LCT. 

My shite patter aside, what I'm after literally all just depends on price, model and condition. I'll consider full length AKs, compact models, 7.62 or 5.45 models, modded AKs, stock AKs, refurbed/repaired AKs, slightly wonky AKs or just whether or not it makes me do the Owen Wilson patented "Wow!" when I see it- The only other criteria is that the gun works and could do a decent job right out the box. I can work with wonky fire selectors and floppy dust covers - but I'm atrocious with gearbox internals and electronics so no boneyard stuff I'm afraid.

If nothing comes through here then I'll just end up grabbing a RK74 or a CM.040 or something from Patrolbase - just to give you an idea of the criteria I'm trying to match or beat.
