revjono
NEW UPDATE: Hi Guys, I have some bad news for the MoD event in Hythe. Yesterday morning we received a call from the MoD telling us that the event was cancelled due to a late booking by a military unit! That however is more or less the end of the bad news. Recognising the fact we have been planning this for close on 6 months the MoD have made available as an alternative venue Ripe Village on the Lydd Base, some 10 miles from Hythe. This is the equivalent of booking a Ford Focus for your hire car only to be told you will have to have a 5 series BMW! The FIBUA facilities at Ripe are about 5 times LARGER than Hythe. When used for active training the place can easily accommodate 300 troops. Anyone NOT wishing to play at Ripe Village will of course be entitled to a full refund. Those that are happy to continue with their booking will be sent full details in a few days time. The very good news is however that we no longer have to cap the event at 80 players. The booking system will still close on THURSDAY 1ST MARCH. After that period it will not be possible to add you to the list as we have to submit the names to the Mod on Friday morning To secure your slot please book via the website. http://elitebattlezone.co.uk/ John Here is the address: Lydd Training Camp, Tourney Rd, Lydd, Kent, TN29 9JR

revjono
Hi Guys another quick update following our visit today, mainly positive but a few warnings 1) Absolutely no Nazi / WWII uniforms. Site rules don't bother asking why. 2) No phones / cameras allowed to be seen at all. Leave them in your car or at home. If you are seen on site with one you will be escorted from the premises (by MoD staff not me and Martin). I do not want to hear about your dying granny, sick dog, pregnant wife or 1000 other excuses you may come up with. There are over 80 CCTV cameras and they will be recording and being monitored. 3) gate opening times will be 08:00 to 09:00. if you arrive after that you could easily have a 20-30 miute wait to be let in. Call me on 07710 313843 to advise. It won't get m to the gate any quicker but at least I will know. 4) Time is limited during the day, so load you mags and equipment quickly to maximise game time. Due to the layout of the event, you will be given a 10 minute warning for games. If you are not ready they will start on time and you will not be injected for at least 30 minutes. Now for the positives 1) We will be bring the EBZ catering kit out in full. Lunch menu to include Burgers for those that can't tear themselves away from them. Piri Piri Chicken, Hot Dogs and of course Chicken Curry. 2) The usual selection of hot and cold drinks will be available on site 3) Martin is bringing a lot of his stock out to play too. If you want anything specifially best to contact him directly. We have a transit van not an Artic! 4) We will be playing in the Afghan Quarter as well as the Housing estate. Two totally awesome CQB areas 5) We visited today Serial 40. Such an amazing site that assuming all goes well on Saturday will probably be our next booking See you all soon
