MSSNAFU Posted Wednesday at 20:46 Posted Wednesday at 20:46 Thoughts of the collective airsoft brain please. While sorting out the M4 bits to list in the classsifieds I happened to notice markings on what I thought was just a thin aluminium sheet inside one of the handguards - see pic. below. Now I can't imagine how a real steel part like this would end up in a pile of airsoft parts, but I also can't imagine and airsoft manufacturer going to the time, effort and presumably licence requirements to engrave this on an item that will basically never be seen! In the words of the immortal Manuel, 'Que?'
ButcherBill Posted Wednesday at 20:51 Posted Wednesday at 20:51 Given the spelling it's prob an asian repro heat shield. Cannonfodder and MSSNAFU 2
Austeyr Posted Wednesday at 20:59 Posted Wednesday at 20:59 Definitely an Asian repro heat shield. How long is it? MSSNAFU 1

MSSNAFU Posted Wednesday at 21:14 Author Posted Wednesday at 21:14 (edited) Slightly too long for the handguard it was sat in😁I'll try to remember to measure it tomorrow. But why bother to laser engrave a part that will never be seen? Slightly bigger pic. below. Forgot to mention it wasn't screwed down to anything, just lying loose. ButcherBill Posted Wednesday at 21:17 Posted Wednesday at 21:17 Looks like it's been screwed/riveted in at some point, looks like an M4 size.

MSSNAFU Posted Wednesday at 21:27 Author Posted Wednesday at 21:27 It was sat inside the handguard attached to to the plastic TM RIF.
Austeyr Posted Wednesday at 21:32 Posted Wednesday at 21:32 My guess would be VFC still tbh, despite the typo they are the only company I can think of that would go to lengths to engrave a heatshield 😂 MSSNAFU 1
Enid_Puceflange Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Posted Wednesday at 21:52 Ask Andre 😂 Austeyr and Cannonfodder 2

ButcherBill Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I wouldn't worry about it TBH, chuck them in the M4 box 😃 MSSNAFU 1

I removed one advert after a user with a good feedback rating, told me he has a UKARA number, then blanked me when I asked for it. Might be ill or have a familly emergency of course, but after 4 days my paranoia stepped in 😑. Another was from what I very strongly suspect was a child, via email rather than through the Forum, so I pulled that ad. too. But yeah I can nearly get to the door again now😄 ButcherBill 1
ButcherBill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I don't sell many rifs as I like to keep my toys but it's certainly been recommended in these forums that sellers simply check the buyers site history (comments, pics posted, feedback) for peace of mind. HZR13 1
